"This is the shadiest company I've ever done business with (and I'm including my Chinese suppliers!). They purposely short the orders (sending .5 oz bottles instead of 2 oz) or leaving items out entirely (esp on lg orders). The quality of their essential oils is dubious at best. They also never post any review that's under 4 stars so you can't trust the product reviews at all. It' a shame because I'd hoped I'd found a good US supplier for my fast growing company but I'd literally rather pay more than send these rip-off artists another penny of my money."

Beeswax or plastic?

"I ordered 8 lbs of 100% pure beeswax from Bulk Apothecary and spent a pretty penny shipping it all the way to Alaska. Upon opening the package it smelled of straight plastic but I thought maybe it was just the packaging (should've known better). I proceeded to melt the wax down to use on my product and THE SMELL. It filled my entire house and it was almost as if I'd melted down a piece of plastic on the stove. My head was pounding for hours after melting it. Beeswax should smell sweet and delicious and they even talk about the "aroma" in their description. This isn't 100% pure beeswax and it's pretty shocking people are using this in skincare products. If I had the money to send this off to be tested to know exactly what it is in it, I would. I'm now in the process of returning and I'm going to guess it'll be a huge hassle since the bag is opened. This company is just asking for a lawsuit with a group of **** off customers..and possibly risking the health of others. "

Worst customer experience of My Life

"Do not under any circumstances do business with bulk Apothecary
They have the worst customer service dept on the planet they are rude and disrespectful
I placed an order of almost 600 dollars that fed ex failed to deliver. When I called them to inform them they insisted that the error was my fault and refused to issue my full refund even though I never received the products. I spoke with 2 managers worse women I have ever encountered they wanted me to pay again for shipping I already paid for. They dont care about the customers. I will never do business with them again
I would not advise that you do either.

"Got a message from fedex saying our order was delivered. Checked our door and nothing. Called fedex they said to file a claim with Bulk Apothecary. Since they were closed Christmas eve we called on the 26th and let them know. A few business days passed and no response. Called again and one of there "super heroes" told us it takes up to 10 business days. On Jan 8th after no contact from them we called again. We were told the claim was denied because we did not pay for signature service?.

Very poor experience

"I purchased what was supposed to be a high quality, 100% pure food grade baking soda, and what I received was NOT food grade, but is a very generic INDUSTRIAL grade baking soda. Then the customer service person on the phone told me they don't even *have* food grade baking soda. Very misleading sales tactics. Now I have to waste my time returning this 50lb bag that was seriously needed for an event this weekend. HORRIBLY disappointed.

*Edited to add* Their company policy says I can return this for a full refund, but MINUS the shipping! What?! When I called back to say that I was not paying $24 in shipping for their error, they told me they would refund in full once this was received back. But now looking at the reviews from others, I am pretty hesitant to take them at their word, and am concerned that my shipping will not actually be refunded, as per their policy. I think I am just going to take the full $47 loss and go talk to the Better Business Bureau.

I would like to note that they also still do have this 'food grade' baking soda listed on their site. False advertising.

Do not do business with this company

"I had to purchase some herbs for an infection and am very ill. I paid for overnight and was told because of timing policy it would be another day(which was fine.)

When I encouraged them to review this policy because Amazon and other companies are very competitive in this space, the rep responded with we have an Amazon account, maybe you should buy there next time.(sic)

I did not need to be met with snark from someone who can't spell unfortunately, while fighting illness and disappointment.

You can get herbs from #Frontier Co-op(American Made) at a better price and certified organic without the attitude. Good luck!

Entire experience terrible

"It took over 2 weeks for them to ship my order. They refused any credit for shipping despite my having to call repeatedly and send numerous emails trying to get them to add the shipping information to my order. When they finally shipped it, the order was wrong. Now I have to try to get them to replace the items they forgot to include. Terrible customer service. Terrible shipping. Terrible experience all around. Will not be ordering from them again. "

Buyer beware!

"Be wary of ordering essential oils from Bulk Apothecary. The oils have unlisted expiration dates which you must specifically request from their documents department. Even then, when the oils go rancid before the date provided by the company, their customer service agents will give you a run around and you will end up losing whatever money you spent as they will not issue you any form of credit towards replacing items. Bulk Apothecary has no concern for customer satisfaction and does not stand by their own documentation or the quality of products they sell. It took me over a dozen emails to two departments over the course of two weeks to finally get the response that they were not going to do anything to resolve a complaint for a loyal customer (which I am no longer)."

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED @

"I purchased in bulk because I have a small business.
After I received the the product. I Didn't examine things right away.

When I did examine my items, I noticed that all of the liquids that I ordered, smelled the same(like used vegetable oil)I ordered Argan oil, Sweet almond oil, Castor oil, 4 gallons of castile soap, vitamin E-oil, and vegetable glycerin, ALL IN BULK.

I also order 3 bottles of 16 oz essential oils., which were quite expensive, when I received my bottles of oil, they were half full and the smell was off on ALL 3 bottles.

I called the company to voice my displeasure, but they didn't seem at all surprised. I let them know that I wasn't happy and would contact the Better Business bureau, again, it didn't seem tp bother them

I told them that I would like some resolution, so the operator, told me that I would have to go online, find each of the items that I've ordered thus far, and MANUALLY input the SKU number.

By this time, I was EXTREMELY AGITATED, she informed me that I wouldn't be getting back all of my money, just part of it, so I just hung up the phone.

I have since, given away ALL 4 gallons of castile soap, 1gallon of sweet almond oil, gallon of castor oil, gallon of vegetable
glycerin, 16 ounces of Argan oil and 15 ounces of vitamin e-oil, as they ALL smelled IDENTICLE to used cooking oil.

I will NEVER shop BA anymore, as a matter of fact, I am going to contact the Better Business bureau.
