"The tile itself is beautiful and we'll priced. We rceived our shipment with about 10% of our shipement having a very noticeable yellow stain. Build direct customer support was very helpful and shipped us out replacement tiles right away. A couple of the replacement tiles still had the stain, which made me worry about QC, but I wasnt worried about a few lost tiles. Fast forward to post installation, many of the tiles are now showing a faint tellow stain that was not invisible pre installation - I guess the wet mortar underneath somehow draws the stain out, because as the mortar continues to dry, the stain slowly fades back away. Im just worried that once we seal the tiles, the stain will be immortalized. And its too late to tear everything out."

"I used this company 6 years ago when I remodeled my previous house and felt comfortable using them again in my current house. The tile that I bought was beautiful and accurately described in the reviews and pictures. I had some damage to the laminate received for the upstairs and this was replaced in a timely manner. Overall, I recommend this company to anyone who mpwants a great price for quality product and great service."

"I am very disappointed by buildirect. I had placed 2 other orders with the company in 2014 without any issues. I recently moved and I am renovating another bathroom. I picked the same tile I had ordered in 2014. Delivery was as expected (ordered the tile May 31st, delivered june 15th). Of course, I ordered my material before we started our project. Upon delivery, I checked a couple of the boxes, and it was the same tile as had I had purchased previously. Our contractors started tiling started in mid July. I was told there were multiple pieces of tile that were broken, but I had ordered 20% more than was necessary (was planning to use this in another area in our house), so I was not concerned. On August 7th, I was told that were are 2 pieces short. I called builddirect that day. They informed me that because it is now over the 30 days, there is nothing they can do. I told them I am willing to purchase the extra pieces. They quoted me $180 for shipping for the extra couple tiles. I told them that is outrageous, as they had shipped broken tiles to me. They then told me I can pay $120 to have the tile shipped to an area 30 minutes away (still outrageous for $20 worth of tile). They were condescending and told me I should have measured better (this is not my first rodeo, 3rd bathroom renovation and I had measured it with my contractor). They told me I should have opened every box of tile myself before their 30 day period (1,360 lbs of tile). They told me if I had purchased a larger amount from them, maybe they would have made an exception (my last order was $1,000 - not a small price). They were unwilling to work with me and refused to let me speak to a manager. I had planned to buy other material from them, but now they have unfortunately lost a customer. I have purchased over $3k of material from them in total and I am appalled by the way they have treated a long-term loyal customer. FYI - this is my first online review, I have been upset by things in the past, but never like this. "
