"I wish i could give them no stars... but for all intents and purposes.. I sold some of my books to bookstores.com and selected pay-pal. I was then told I would receive a check because my pay-pal couldn't be verified, and only gave me an option for check by mail. It said Check issued to billing address which was for debit payments, not my mailing address. I never received the check and send them an email (they don't have a customer support number) I received an email after about three days stating that they can not help me with the matter until 45 days after the issue date. I explained that I have a different mailing address and the check was returned to sender, they should already at this point have it in there possession. They keep sending me the same message of there is nothing we can do, wait 45 day and contact us. I changed the billing address, I emailed them my billing address so they could resend the check, they keep saying they can no reissue checks until after 45 days, when they could have resent the check already issued. "
"If I could give this company zero stars I would. BEWARE: After mailing in my books, I received a return email from Bookstores.com that said my gently used textbook had "water damage" and therefore had zero value. After emailing them, with pictures of my book’s condition prior to their receipt of it, they offered to send it back as a one time courtesy if I paid $3.99 shipping. I don’t see how it is my fault that either FedEx or this company’s intake team damaged my book. I've had great results with other companies in the past, and so I DO NOT recommend this one."
"After reading several negative reviews, I went against my better judgement and sold three text books to bookstores.com. Two of the texts had MINIMAL hi-liting that did not in any way, shape, or form, obscure the text. No other " damage" at all. For that reason, they said they can't buy the texts and will "RECYCLE " them. When I read on their website what conditions of texts are accepted and what is not, I only found that hi-liting in WORKBOOKS would not be accepted. Had I read ANYWHERE on their site that TEXT BOOKS with hi-liting were not accepted, I would NEVER have wasted my time and effort sending them my books!!! Who doesn't hi-lite their text books???? This company is a complete scam. I do not believe for one second they are recycling the books they have been sent that they don't buy!! Total fraud!!! "

"I have to admit, I was a little nervous to sell my used textbooks to Bookstores.com due to past reviews. Thankfully, the service that they provided was excellent. I received the full amount of $$$ that they estimated, service was fast and they provided great communication via email in every step of the process.
TIP: Please use the free FedEx Ground and not USPS to ship your books to them if you are wanting quick service. USPS definitely takes alot longer to get to their warehouse."
"Said my most expensive book was water damaged and would not pay for it though it wasn't water damaged when I sent it. Said they "destroy" such books. No doubt they sell them and pocket the proceeds. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!!!"
"I was disrespected and not given proper help by the employee or manager (Scott). he completely brushed me off and my concerns as is i was wrong, although i gave him proof showing that i was being told and kept being told by multiple people that they did not receive my package and that it was still at a FedEx location. Even after telling them i spoke with Fedex they continued to tell me the same thing by email. The "manager" Scott, stood by what his guy told me on the chat and basically told me he will be ending the chat session and there was nothing further to discuss and they will be sending my books back to me. This was told to me after i asked him what was it meant by when he said something about inspecting the books other than normal inspections, and ignored me, and got an attitude because i told him at this point i didnt believe anything anyone tole me because i kept getting told diff stories. Also, he wouldnt give me an estimate time on when I would get my books back, he just said, "ill email you with tracking info." He never apologized and ended the chat with no further explanation. I will never use this company ever again to sell my books. Other companies give back just as much such as Chegg.com, and Barnes and nobles. And the good thing about B&N you can go into the store. I DONT RECOMMEND BOOKSTORES.COM. i WILL ALSO be reporting them to BBB."
"I shipped two textbook from OH, just 100 miles away, and took them 4 weeks to "receive" two books. AND it has been 30 days, I haven't got paid yet. Customer services keeps saying they received but took time to check my book. The online status still showing "unreceived". I bet they already lost my books and didn't willing to pay. SO disappointed. DONT ever send your buyback textbook to this company/textbookrush. "

"I purchased book from textbookrush.com ( aka bookstores.com) 3 month ago on 9/12/2014 and didn't have a chance to use it until now 12/20-2014. It's a alternative book and I understand from description that it could be different from original publisher, but it is nowhere on their site states that it would be much worse quality then original. The pages are very very thin and you can see throw them and it's ok, but when pages just start falling off is not ok."
