"I ordered two spinning rods from "Boater Barn" first because of the advertised availability and secondly because of the competitive price. When I checked on the order two days later, I found the order had been canceled due to the rods being unavailable. As of this writing, BB has not notified me that the order has been canceled nor have they removed the pending charges from my MC. I'll not make the same mistake twice."
"I ordered 30 items (different item numbers meaning 30 different products) from boater barn. Mostly baits. I ordered, paid and completed the order. I spent nearly two hours searching through the site to decide which baits I wanted and added to my cart. I was very pleased at the variety and price.
However the next day I get an email stating that 18 out of 30 of the items I ordered had a 12qty min to order. Now this info was not listed on the site. There was no mention of a min qty. In fact right on the page it asks you to select a quantity to add and starts at 1.
And 8 of the 30 were no longer available on their site or from their supplier.
For those of you counting that means that 26 out of 30 or 87% of my order was not able to be placed. Only 4 items were available for my order.
Now I can understand if supplies are limited and will take a while, it happens. I could even understand limits on min/max amounts, IF LISTED AHEAD OF TIME. I would even forgive an occasional item that should have been removed from the site after being discontinued....But not 8 out of 30. And those are just the ones I ordered, how many are no longer available that I skipped past??? Very poor business model and absolutely horrid website management.
I do not recommend this company. I will no longer do business with them. I went to amazon, ordered everything again, and only paid $4.32 more and the order actually shipped 1.5 hours after placing the order. I keep trying to beat amazons prices but keep coming back because I know I'll get my items hassle free. "
"I order a Garmin GPS from this site early in December. However, they canceled the order without notifying me and I did not find out until shortly before Christmas. I only found out because I sent an email to customer service asking why it had not shipped yet. They blamed the lack of notification on their email server, but they offered no form of reconciliation other than a generic email message stating they are sorry and are working on the issue. I will avoid this site for shopping in the future"
"I attempted to order from this company twice. Both times they cancelled my order. Apparently they find it impossible to ship to a different address than the Billing address. I live in an apartment where there is no safe place to leave packages. I ALWAYS ship to a friends or relative's house where it is safer. NEVER had a problem - until BoaterBarn.com.
This is something that EVERY other eCommerce merchant does without issue. Yet somehow, they view it as a fraudulent attempt even after I email, call, and chat with them to verify myself and the address. I offered to place the order over the phone. Pay via google checkout. Pay via pay pal.
They refused. Flat out refused my money.
What a joke. I ended up purchasing my items directly from the manufacturer - but lost a week dealing with these idiots.
