"I purchased bitcoins from bitinstant in April 2013 with no issues three times. Given that, I figured that I would have no problems when I again tried to purchase bitcoins two days ago.
I received an E-Mail from bitinstant stating that there was a "MtGox transfer error," even though I only wanted to transfer coins to a bitcoin address (not to MtGox). They did not reply to the ticket that was "automatically" created after the error occurred, and they did not reply to my technical support E-Mail - even after 36 hours.
This is unacceptable. Since my purchase, the price of bitcoins has risen from $67.50 to $75.00, costing me a huge amount of money. Bitinstant advertises service within a certain amount of time, and not even replying to an E-Mail within that period of time is false advertising. Were bitcoins regulated like stocks, this company would be in serious jeopardy.
The only solution I will accept is that they either eat the cost of the wire transfer fees at their own expense and refund my money in full, or that they deliver my bitcoins at yesterday's price. Otherwise, I will be pursuing legal action against them.
Don't make the same mistake and get into a situation like mine. Do not use this company. I'm not sure what happened over the past few months, but BitInstant is not to be trusted. There are other exchanges out there, and they deliver on time and have customer service that responds to their customers."

"I saw lots of worrying reviews for BitInstant, but decided to give them a go anyway. Was transferring money from Dwolla to a CoinBase. My initial translation failed, but it turned out that I needed to do a few extra verification steps on Dwolla to allow them to send to the BitInstant account (a fact that BitInstant send me email about very promptly when I inquired about the failure of my first transaction - excellent and prompt customer service). Once this was completed, I retried the transaction and it completed in under an hour.
Very happy with the service. I think their 4% cut is a bit steep, but that's my only, minor complaint."

"When I first decided to use bitinstant I looked up reviews and found nothing but negative reviews. Tons of people slandering this company, however my experience with them was 10/10, smooth, quick. It seems the company gained more traffic than it could handle and caused several people to have an unpleasant experience.
To anyone interested in doing business with them, their service has addressed the issue. They do business with mtgox, which I believe is the largest bitcoin exchange currently out.
