No customer service or pride

"Ordered pirate hats for my 4-year olds birthday and only received 1 cheap foam hat for $24. Called and was told the 12 indicated was size not quantity (note it barely fit my small 4-year old). I found the exact same item for $7 less on oriental trading for 12 hats and contacted them again. My inquiry was forwarded to multiple departments after which I stopped getting a response. Ordered the 12 I needed from oriental trading and will never use birthday express again! Of note I also received a link to review the item and tried to do it twice on their site and the review is still not showing on the item. "

Don't order from Birthday Express!

"I ordered birthday items for my grandson's 1st birthday. I even paid for express mail so it would arrive in time. The day it was promised to be delivered, I called and they said they had mistakenly sent by standard shipping even though they admitted I had paid for express mail. Now I am having a difficult time getting a refund."

"I purchased personalized favor boxes for my son's baseball team and they turned out great. Good quality and the picture and wording on the boxes were perfect. They were a huge hit and all of the parents wanted to know where I got them from. I received the order 3 days after placing it. I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience! I would defintely order from there again!!"

"I had ordered my child's 4th birthday supplies from this website back on April 8th. The garentee delivery date was April 16th. On the 18th I called said mailing label was being printed Mon am. Called again Mon afternoon said same thing. Called wed gave me run around again said I will have by Fri. Called Friday still not shipped out said it will be overnighted and they will pay for sat delivery. Never received tracking number. This part is the worst, I called sat still not shipped and they has the nerve to ask me to reschedule my child's birthday. I canceled my order today Mon. I definitely thought ordering a month ahead of time was plenty of time, but apparently I was Wong. I will never use this site for anything ever again. Absolutely a joke"

"I won't order from this company again. I have had 2 of my children's birthdays in the last 2 months where I ordered all of the party supplies from Birthday Express and was "guaranteed" to receive my order by a certain date. Those dates came and went both times, and I had yet to even receive an e-mail that my orders had been shipped. I had to call multiple times and was told simply that there were order delays and that they would refund my $7.99 shipping charges and send my order out as soon as possible. I didn't want my shipping charges refunded but wanted my order in time for my kids' birthdays. I'm not sure what a "guarantee" on the shipping means since both times they were able to retract the "guarantee.""

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered a large amount of gift bags, hats, party favors for our company's annual customer appreciation event. When I went to assemble all the goodie bags for all the children attending, HALF OF THE ORDER WAS MISSING! I thought maybe I ordered incorrectly but when I double-checked my invoice, I ordered correctly, was charged the FULL amount, but I had EIGHT bags when I needed over 60! Half of the party favors I ordered were also missing. I called and while the woman was very nice and apologized, she offered me 20% off my next purchase. LOL Umm no thanks, pretty sure our company won't be purchasing from here again. "

"I ordered about 100.00 worth of party supples from Celebrate Express. When I received them I checked to make sure everything was there and it was. I had ordered a banner with "Happy Birthday Mia" on it. I didn't realize until it was hung that "Happy" was SPELLED WRONG!! I called the company and was told I would get a refund. After a couple weeks and not receiving it I called again. At that time I was told that they had changed their minds and I wouldn't be getting a refund after all. I won't do business with a company that can't spell Happy and won't refund when THEY spell it wrong."

"I placed an order on 10/11/07 and called to cancel the order on 10/15/07. Since I waited on hold for 15 minutes and did not know if my call would actually be answered, I also sent an e-mail requesting that the order be cancelled. A customer service rep finally answered the call and he assured me that the order would be cancelled. I never received a response from my e-mail cancellation request, so I assumed that the order was successfully cancelled.

On 10/19/07 I received a message that my order was just shipped. I promptly called Customer Service once again and waited for another 15 minutes and explained my problem. The solution? Call back when I receive the order (and wait on hold for another 15 minutes) and they would take care of it then.

Don't order from this company. Their idea of Customer Service is an absolute joke.

"I ordered a Halloween costume for our daughter from this site. I received a confirmation e-mail that the order had been received. When I placed the order, the site said that the costume would be available to ship starting September 14.

September 14 came and went. On September 18 I checked the order status online and it said that the item was backordered. I contacted Celebrate Express's Live Chat help and asked when the costume would be available to ship. They told me that the item had SOLD OUT and would I like my order cancelled?

I told the Representative that I had received an order confirmation, and now the costume wasn't available? She said, "No, it must have sold out." I told her to cancel the order. I asked if I could have a confirmation that the order had been cancelled and she said, "Our systems aren't set up to do that." At that point I was so angry that I just hung up. AVOID!
