ridiculous and fraudulent

"Long story short:
Went to store, picked out a set of utensils to send as a gift. Store Manager helped me with the order and shipping but ordered the wrong item. I asked him to cancel it and after a long time and confusion he said it was canceled. I asked for proof of that and he said he didnt have anything and assured me it was canceled. Next day they charged my card and sent the item ( the wrong item). I called they said they couldnt help me and I would have to wait until the store manager (same one who did the transaction ) came back from his day off. Fraudulent charges are pending with the credit card company.
LAST TIME I BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE.

Jill Hamden CT is THE BEST!!

"I recently had a very minor issue at The Bed Bath & Beyond at 2045 Dixwell Avenue Hamden, Connecticut. I was contacted by telephone by the store’s Manager - Jill.

Jill was extremely helpful, incredibly understanding, genuinely polite and an absolute joy to deal with!!

She has such an understanding of the Customer Service industry and takes such pride and commitment in the operation of her store in Hamden, Connecticut.

Hats off to you Jill and my utmost respect, for running such a Top Notch location!!

DON'T BUY Wamsutta Dream Zone 1000 Thread Count Sheets

"I purchased the Wamsutta Dream Zone 1000 Thread Count Sheets and after using them for barely 4 weeks, the strips started fraying and left a basket ball sized hole in the fitted sheets. The sheet set was entirely babied. Washed weekly on the gentle cycle but always line dried. Honestly, any 300 thread count sheets would last longer than this $300+ Wamsutta set did. BB&B won't let me exchange the fitted sheet even though I provided proof of the transaction. I didn't keep the receipt. If you do purchase this set, but your receipt in your safe deposit box, because you will definitely need it to return them."

President and customer service does not care about their customers

"Too many shady activities by this company to go over all they pulled in recent years.  They sold us a robotic vacuum that turned out to be used even though we bought a BRAND new one, for example.  Their most recent poor service had a woman (Ebony) checking why an item that I was confirmed was coming was not even shipped days after the online sale.  She said she would e-mail me back and follow through to get me an answer but never did. 

I was misled when I called back again after not hearing back from Ebony.  Lorraine told me the item was out-of-stock. I researched and found it in California.  After I found it, I contacted Lorraine again, and I was told it WAS available in USA but as a Canadian I could not get it.  I bought it online at their Canadian site and it showed available when I did so. Worse yet, they were STEALING my funds.  They removed my giftcard funds to pay for the item and only because I called twice am I getting my money back.  They were keeping it. 

They did NOT notify me the item is out-of-stock.  They put my funds back only when I said they will not get away with keeping my money when nothing was sent.

When I complained to the corporate customer service manager Munraj, instead of helping me, he said future orders of mine will be cancelled.  He now is trying to cheat me by not giving me my Canadian giftcard value in $Canadian dollars.  He wants ME to suffer for exchange rate fluctuations.

Gene (Eugene) Castagna, the president, could not care less about their customers.  I wrote a heartfelt message to him, only to have it passed back to Munraj.  Poor management and they do not care about longtime customers.

BE WARE! SCAM They have stolen my money!”

"before using this site.
I noticed I can buy their membership for $30 so that I can get 20% discount on any item for one year.
I bought the membership and bought some small orders and got the discount.
Then later I send few orders as a gift to some friends.
Then I discovered They have canceled the orders and canceled the membership!!!!!!!
They canceled my paid one- year membership after few days
They stolen my money.
Do not use this site they will take your money for the membership and will cancel it without reason.

Genuinely horrible. Don't waste YOUR time like we did.

"I suspect it won't be too long before Bed Bath & Beyond is gone and you are reading this post-mortem.

Simply put, like so many other companies, they have an antiquated inventory tracking system. This means they have no idea how much they have of a product and/or where it is located.

My wife used to enjoy shopping at BB&B (I never did) but after two "You've got to be kidding" experiences in the past week, even she said, "Never again."

While visiting BB&B's website, she found an item that she really wanted. Turns out you can't simply pay online and pick up in the store. You have to 'reserve' stuff then pay when you get to the store.

So, she 'reserves' the item. And yes, she was logged in to her account.

Arrive at the store a couple hours later and it's not 'reserved'. Hmmm . . . well, ok, we'll just grab it off the shelf. Uh-oh . . . can't find it. BB&B associate offers to help. She confirms they are supposed to have 4 (four) available and spends 15 minutes trying to find ONE but cannot. And no, this is not a high demand item. She apologizes and offers to check other stores. I ask if she would believe it if their inventory system said something was available. She shook her head and said, "This happens all the time. I'm so sorry." We feel sorry for her. And we leave empty-handed.

A few days later, my wife finds a different item on their website but it's available only at a store that requires me to take a different route home. I can do that. Once again, the item is 'reserved' for pick-up. As a precaution, before leaving work, I decide to print the order. Log into the account, go to the cart and get a message saying 'We're sorry, this item is no longer available.' Huh?? I thought it was 'reserved'? I return to the product page and guess what? It's 'Available' at that store. And yes, I refreshed the page. Click on the 'Reserve' button and get, "Item is currently unavailable at your preferred store." Yep, the store at which they just told me it was 'Available'.

BB&B will go out of business because the company's managers tolerate the utter incompetence of their IT department, not because of the 'Amazon excuse' (see Edward Bourelly on that subject). They KNOW these problems exist, but do not fix them. *They* deserve to lose their jobs. It's a shame that they are so lazy and uncaring because the store employees work hard and bear the brunt of corporate ineptitude.

Stores Consistently High Quality

"I do not hesitate to write negative reviews on companies that treat the customer poorly. In the case of BB&B I have been shopping in their stores for years and have had consistently good service. Even when a store is out of an item the store will order it online for me with free shipping. They have also been superb in standing behind the products they sell, with no problems returning merchandise that does not perform well.

Online order accepted and then simply disappeared--no email, etc.

"Placed an online order for a High Sierra backpack, linking through RetailMeNot, and also applied a 20% coupon that BB&B sent me. Everything looked good, showed to be shipped direct from High Sierra, used my Visa card to pay. All standard online commerce.

Waited around for the order email to come to me, but it never did (crickets).

Went back to the BB&B website and found the backpack again, showed "out of stock online".
Went to my "Order History": blank page. Still no email.
Started online chat session, after several minutes was asked for my email address to check the status of the order.
After a couple more minutes on chat, got an apology and the news my "order was not successful".

So from this exercise, BB&B has my credit card info.
And I have the knowledge to never order from them again.
