These guys know their bats

"I ordered a bat through their website. It was an Easton that was going to replace the Easton I already had. The weight I wanted was out of stock. They called me directly, and offered to find me the Easton in as close to the weight I wanted as possible. But they also told me about another bat that they felt was much better. The guy I talked to plays ball and is familiar with the products. The DeMarini Aftermath Flipper was the same price and it was a sale price that was a steal. The bat they talked me into is by far a superior product. My entire softball team loves this bat. I would buy from them again in a minute. "

Owner told me Girls shouldn't hit with 27oz bat.....and then told me I was a B*tch.

"The Owner, Steve Ponzio, called me a b*tch and told me that girls shouldn't swing above a 26 oz. bat.......Now that I have your attention, here's what happened.....

After LOTS of research and trying out probably 50-60 bats, I happened upon a Miken Triad, 27 oz. end loaded Maxload (the blue and black bat, not the gold one,) and fell in love with it. It felt amazing and the ball just sailed off the bat. I wasn't able to spend the money needed for it right then so I just lusted after it for a while. By the time I was able to buy one, it was discontinued and couldn't be found. Heart break. A friend of mine said she found the bat on Batsunlimited.com! Hooray! I immediately put in an order. That night I got an e-mail stating that I must call back TOMORROW AFTER 9AM (it was all in caps lock, I swear.) Once I did, I was told that it was sold out, so I inquired about what was the closest. I stated that I really loved 27 oz. end-loaded and immediately he, STEVE PONZIO, said girls can't swing above a 26oz and guys should only swing 27oz and above. I was a bit taken aback but was calm and said that it worked for me and that's where I felt comfortable. I wasn't rude, just stating my experience. He proceeded to tell me about all the studies and all the girls who play college ball that he works with that prove girls shouldn't swing anything above 26 oz. Again, I told him I like this bat in a 27 oz, and he said that girls who think they swing better with a 27 oz. don't know what they are talking about and it is in their heads......I'm just going to state for the record, that I don't care about studies. I care about feel and this is what I like and what I was looking for. It's about confidence and this bat felt good. Isn't the customer always right?!? Then we discussed Miken's replacement for the Triad (namely, the Freak) but I haven't had a chance to try is so I didn't want to spend money without more research. He was a bit frustrated that I was asking more questions and told me to call the Miken Rep and ask them. He gave the name and number, which I called. The Miken rep was really helpful and then I asked about girls swinging 27 oz, and he said to swing what is comfortable and what works for me. He then said he would not do business with someone who said something as ignorant as what Steve was saying. I agreed.

Thing is, they had my credit card info and Steve told me that if he didn't hear from me within a few days, they would shred my info. I didn't trust that and wanted an e-mail confirming my cancellation. So I called them and spoke to a woman there. Let me say this, She was GREAT!! I asked her who the manager was and she said Steve was the owner. I laughed and said "oh crap, I am calling to cancel my order and complain about him." She laughed and heard me out. I told her what the issue was, that I was really put off by his attitude and that I wanted to cancel my order. She was very apologetic and was trying to take care of me when Steve overheard the conversation and got back on the phone. He proceeded to argue with me and state all these studies. I stated I didn't care and I just liked that weight in the end-load. Then he said, "fine, you don't want to listen to someone who knows...." and hung up.

Sigh.....I still hadn't told her I wanted the e-mail for cancellation. So I called her back and told her I just needed the e-mail please. Steve got back on and argued some more. Then when she was able to get on the phone to continue my request, STEVE said, "just hang up on that b*tch." Which she said that she most definitely would not. He proceeded to rant where I could hear him. He also told me that the Miken rep, which HE SUGGESTED, was a knucklehead and that he didn't know what he was talking about. Oh, the irony!! She processed my cancellation right then and there and was very professional about it and very kind. I never once resorted to yelling, name calling or any kind of belligerence. I just didn't agree with what he was saying and told him I liked that weight and that's what I wanted.

I have never had this kind of reaction from anybody selling a product. Can you imagine going into a store, stating your preference and then get yelled at because that person didn't agree with your preference?!?!?!? I am beyond shocked and this review is going on MANY, MANY more sites.

"Very good experience! I ordered the 2014 mako on Monday. K received an email saying they are no longer made on Tuesday. I called in that morning and the service was perfect. They gave me the 2015 mako and I didn't have to pay any more money. The bay also shipped out the same day and I got the tracking number a few hours later."

"This will be my first...AND LAST...time ordering from batsunlimited. Through an error in processing, my credit card information was left open and I was charged the price for my bat ($189) and two additional charges of $1620 and $1840! Apparently they mistakenly charged a vendors order to my card. I do have to admit that when I called to address this matter the rep quickly found the mistake and assured me that I would be refunded these amounts. I did however have to dispute the $1620 with my card company because it had already posted. Also, make sure you correctly spell your email address to the rep if you are doing a phone order. Do not assume they know how to spell. The info with my order and tracking number never got to me because of it. The only positive of using the site was that I received my bat in just days without any shipping costs. This does not make up for the stress caused with the incorrect charges though. There is only so many times you can hear "sorry" before the word loses meaning. I hope in the future they can fix their issues. I will not, however, do business with them again and cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone."

"TERRIBLE. I am from Canada and I ordered a bat from bats unlimited because the price looked so good. First I email them and a guy tells me through email that it's free shipping, then as soon as I give him a call, there's $35.00 shipping. When I clearly pointed out that I was from Canada in my email. So I wasn't too happy about that. But whatever, it is what it is, people make mistakes. I ordered the bat on January 7, 2014 and told them I need the bat here by February 12, 2014. I call 2 weeks later for a tracking number and they still hadn't mailed the bat. I stayed patient and asked politely if they would send it that week because I really needed it, they said sure. I called the next Wednesday and they were just going to send it that day. At that point, I wasn't happy at all. It is now February 4. 2014 and I'm starting to panic because it still isn't here. Bats Unlimited is awful and I will never buy from them again."

"I had a great experience. I ordered a bat, and received an email to call customer service. I called and Mike Ponzio told me that the bat I wanted was outdated and that there were better bats for the same price. So I got a better bat with 2 day shipping and 2 days later I had my bat. They could have just sent me the bat that I "wanted" but they took the time to make sure I was getting the best."

"I am also going to lodge a complaint with the better business bureau as well. Ordered a bat on the 4th the bat was delivered 4 days later but it wasn't my bat and the receipt was for another individual. Called them 4 times and kept gettin the run around and finally they want me to ship the bat to the person who ordered it and then have that individual ship to me. ell against my better judgement I ship the bat to th other customer. Confirm tracking number with Bats Unlimited. Here it is 17 days after my order and I want a confirmation of tracking number for my bat and they email me the tracking number for the bat that I had shipped. So here I sit 17 days after the fact I have no idea where my bat is and I can't get a straight answer out of them and i can't dispute my CC charge! I wish there were negative stars to rate my experience with these idiots!"

"Awful experience with this company. I ordered from here after reading the only other review on this website and had high hopes. Ordered a bat on the 14th and was told it was out of stock and had to be ordered from the factory. Told the guy I had to have it by the 25th at latest, and he never checked on the status of the order until the 25th when I called him and asked what was going on. I was told the factory told him they never received his e-mail with my order in it. It's a good thing someone (aka ME) was on top of the order or who knows how long it would have taken to figure out my order was never placed! While all this was going on, 3 games passed in my softball season when I could have ordered from another company for the SAME PRICE and had the bat for all three of those games! And for all of this and everything I went through all I got was an "I'm sorry" and an offer to refund my money. I'm sorry does not get me my bat for 3 games I missed, and I'm sorry sure as heck does not bring back a first time customer who just went through what I did. There is NO WAY I would ever order from this company again, even if they were the best price. I would gladly pay an extra $50 to avoid working with this company. And, while I'm reviewing my experience, if you try to call this company get ready to WAIT. 5 out of the 6 times I called them (that's 83% of the time) I was immediately put on hold and then had to wait on hold for at least 7-10 minutes each time. And, the lady that picked up the phone was not friendly at all. This company must do great repeat order business because they sure as heck don't seem interested in getting any new customers. This was an awful experience, and if you insist on placing an order with this company you better be ready to do all the legwork to keep on top of them and make sure your order gets placed. Two weeks of my time wasted because the e-mail you sent to the factory never got there? Give me a break. "
