You cannot talk to him on the phone. Purchased their HRT 600 external tuner box for $54.99 plus 15.95 shipping, found the unit was a different unit with the wrong remote and the help sheet was for another company. Unit had no serial or company name on it. Found out it is a Sabrent TV-LCDHR High-Resolution TV Tuner Box sold through TigerDirect for #39.99 plur $4.95 shipping, which comes with name brand on the box and the correct full remote control. Had to send the unit back to the Monkeys, talk about crappy companys out there, BAD MONKEYS!!"
"Product specs are not complete: for example, the HRT600 Tuner forgets all settings if it gets unplugged even for second, and a lengthy channel search is needed using a VGA monitor to set it up again. The regular video out cannot be used. None of that is in the specification or write up. The manual is available online, but it's not there either; the vga set up only connection is noted in a xeroxed sheet included inside the box.
Their return policy means you paid to get it sent to you ($16), you have to send it back (probably less since their fee is high), plus a 20% restocking fee. It's cheaper to keep the device.
When I inquired about the "forgettfullness" of the device, their response was curt and rude: basically, tough, we didn't say it kept settings, and your stuck with it.
I suggest that you don't do business with Barrel of Monkeys or with their parent, Firebird systems.
