"I have placed two orders with this company. Neither order was ever shipped or received. Will not respond to emails/calls. Will not send refund. Had to dispute both charges with my credit card company."

Scam website

"They took order my order charged credit card. Order was "processing" for several weeks, never shipped. I reported to my credit card company to dispute and got my money back. Website looks legit (and maybe once was legit), but it seems pure fraud now. Stay away."

It's either a scam or out of business but with a website left operating and collecting payments.

"Website looks very legitimate, but upon ordering they charged my card immediately (not upon order fulfillment)...and then never fulfilled the order. Weeks later it remains with status "processing" despite all products having been listed as in stock. Attempts to contact customer service via email, website contact form, as well as phone (number to physical store is out of service), all go unanswered."

Complete scam - no response by phone or email, never sent product

"Do not buy from backwoods.com!! I'm not sure why this company even has a website, it is updated with inventory and slightly lower prices than competitors, but ultimately they never send your order. Then they do not answer phones, voicemails, or emails. Hopefully you used a credit card and you can file a complaint against this scam company, you will receive an order confirmation but you will never get your product."

"I used a gift card to buy two pairs of sunglasses and they never shipped. They never responded to the 5 emails I sent to customer service and any other department email I could find. Scam! "

"No free refunds! No customer service phone number. Poor quality clothing.
Items did not match picture or descrption. Sticker tag price was lower than advertised price because items were dated in style and year. Items were 3+ years old.

Not responsible store

"I prefer to buy expensive items from the manufacturer's website or from trusted stores. But probably a good discount caught my attention and now I have a problem. I have been fond of fishing for a long time and decided to buy myself a good wader. I chose Simms g3. I have never bought in this store, but after looking some customer reviews I was sure that everything would be fine. I quickly got the waders and my happiness had no limits. But after two minutes I suspected that something was wrong. The original box was missing and there was no a hip belt. The wader looked new. I didn’t put it on and immediately started looking for the store's phone number to find out what was going on, but there was no phone. There is only an email address of customer sevice. I found the address of the warehouse from I got it, and googled a phone number. Of course, no one could answer me right away and a person asked me my phone number and said that they will call me later. Today is the fourth day gone, but no one called. I received an e-mail the next day where was wrote that Simms was not selling a G3 ($ 549) wader with a box and a belt. I was offered to buy a belt separately for $ 26. I contacted Simms and received a confirmation that Simms does sell all waders in a box and with a hip belt. Simms offered me to send a hip belt for free. I decided to return the wader because I suppose that this store either sells non-original goods, or these waders were returned by another buyer withot a box and a hip belt or store makes extra money by seling belts separetly. I made a request for a refund, as without it is impossible to return, and received another response that the waders are not selling in a box and with a belt. I answered and added a letter from Simms. I am still waiting for a response. I wrote on Friday afternoon (12/4/20), probably the customer service does not work on weekdays. I specifically ordered another of the same waders but in a different size in the same store to prove that they are sold with a box and a hip belt. I don't know for what reason to say otherwise. I wrote this feedback so that future buyers might avoid such problems as me. Still have not recived the answer where to return the wader."

No issues, quick shipping.

"Like a couple of other reviewers here, I took a chance even though I was concerned about the low rating, because the price was the best I found.
I placed my order on a Sunday. I don't recall receiving a confirmation email once I placed my order, but I did get a phone call from the company that same day (again, this was a Sunday!) to confirm my shipping address. That impressed me.
My items arrived a few days after that. My experience was all positive, and I'll shop here again!

"Was apprehensive about placing the order due to the generally negative reviews found here. Decided to give the vendor a try due to it being a real brick-and-mortar business across different states. Had a bit of a scare due to not being able to find any live representative to track down the order status for the entire next day, following the order placement.

Ultimately, order was received in a timely manner with tracking emails sent. Had a slight issue with missing accessory, so followed up with an email that did not garner attention other than the canned auto response. Ended up calling and it was promptly resolved.

Overall satisfied with the vendor regarding follow-up and customer service, and thrilled about the promotion/value received. Thumb up!

"After reading other reviews about Backwoods.com I was hesitant to place an order, but the Sealline Boundary pack that they had for 39.99 was 109.99 to 124.99 everywhere else (including sale and club member pricing) and I needed 2 for a Boy Scout outing that my son has coming up. Being the cheap... bargain hunter that I am I opted for the free economy ground shipping for orders at that price level. I placed my order on a Saturday night and received the packs on Thursday. Great packs, arrived quickly in great condition, and saved enough to pay for the trip. I will definitely check Backwoods.com the next time I need an outdoor item."

"I ordered 2 different products, only got a confirmation email and neither product came in the mail. A month later, my credit card was still charged so I emailed them asking what happened. Still no response, but it seems as though they took the charge off my credit card since I mentioned it. They do not seem like a reputable company. I'd stay away."

"Ordered an item they had on a good sale (shoes $20.00 cheaper than anywhere else has offered in the past year). About 4 days later they emailed saying "oops, it was out of stock - but here, you can buy our other stuff instead!"

This is a bait and switch tactic. It appears NONE of their customer's orders were shipped, yet the item still shows in stock, at the sale price, four days later!

Luckily, this is the internet and I can easily tell others to STAY AWAY!

update: 4 or 5 days after they cancelled my order due to "out of stock", the item was still listed on their website as in stock, at the sale price. I tried ordering again, and again they cancelled the order saying it was out of stock. I tried emailing them several times. They have a note to email any questions to them, but that email address does not work. I tried other email addresses on their website and never received any reply.

SUMMARY: No customer service at all, and bait and switch tactics to lure in customers with fake advertised sale prices.

"Order shoes on sale a week later got the wrong size emailed them three times got no response from them of what they were going to do. instead I got a email from fed ex with a shipping label. I ordered the shoes again and emailed them to just refund my money since I had no idea what they were going to do. Got an email two days later saying they don't have stock of the shoes now. This place is worse than the worst Customer Service I have dealt with, because there is no customer service. "

"I guess I'm pretty lucky compared to other customers' experiences. I placed some orders from a sale they had which were over 60% off with free shipping. I ordered on feb 1 and got my items feb 9. Items were in new condition, I have no complaints. "
