"I only read the poor ratings some were giving this company after I made my purchase with this company. I do admit, their practices are a little odd, in that the overall company is X Technologies and they sell via multiple company names on the web. However, I was very pleased with my purchase. I recieved my computer within 5 days of my purchase, it was well packaged, and all components were there. I contacted their customer service multiple times to keep tabs on my order, after having read the poor reviews, and they all seemed pleasant and willing to help. I was pleased with my purchase, and their service, so I'm not really sure what happened with those other people's orders."

"I wish I had read all of these reviews before I ordered...I placed an order for an AMD Duron 1200 barebones system. I was contacted via email by Gary at AntaresNow several days later and told that the Duron 1200 was out of stock, and they would be happy to substitute an Athlon XP 1600+ for $20 more. Sounded like a decent deal so I said yes. Ended up receiving a Duron after all, but they sure took my $20. Here is the reply that I got from Gary:

"The items that you receive are correct. The process that you received is the Duron 1600+, ~1.2Ghz. This is the newest technology just like in the AMD Athlon XP processors. It is the 1600 processor, it just displays the gigahertz."

..uh, what?

When I called him on the blatent discrepency again and tried to explain that the Duron is DEFINITELY not the same as the Athlon, his only reply was that I could contact customer service and arrange to return the product if I was "unsatisfied with it" (which would have meant dissasembling what I had already put together, and paying for the shipping)

I wouldn't buy water in the middle of the desert from these folks. Read the other posts and stay clear."

"Ordered a video card to test out this company. Glad I did before I purchase my new syste,....Ive had nothing but problems. First they screwed up my address, so needed some confirmation. After dozens of phone calls, I got them to switch to the billing address..was told card was going to ship.

A week later, and many more calls, this lady Maria keeps insisting their systems are down, thats why order was updating. So, apparently she manually tells them to ship my card out.

Ok, another week later...and 10 more calls to this Maria...and she still pretends to barely remember me when we talk...always needs to look my order up. WHY!?? We talk every day!! Alas, my card STILL hasnt shipped! So, she "manually" goes back to thier warehouse and tells them to ship it AGAIN!

Well, its the start of a new week...lets see if my card arrives...somehow I doubt it will, as website still lists my order as "On Hold".

"Wanted to buy a PC on 12/29/02, and I saw their listing on price watch. I called and they have informed me that they just sold out of this model which was Intel P4 2.0 Ghz.
I called again after the holiday, and the told me it’s sold out, and it will cost me about $100 to get that PC. The problem was THEY WERE RODE ABOUT IT, SO I GOT ANGRY AND DECIDED TO INVISTIGATE THEIR PRACTICES.

"This is probably one of the worse companies I have bought from. I saw them on pricewatch.com and after reading the rating here I decided to go with them. I purchased a Motherboard Kit from them for XP1800/MSI KT7 Turbo. I placed the order online and waited a couple of days and it said that it was on hold because needed to verify shipping address.

First of all they do not reply to any e-mails, so don't bother. If you call their number on the website, you will get X Technologies !!! Not Antaresnow but X Technologies, there is no number for antaresnow, this is some sort of scam because alvio.com is somehow linked to Antersnow.com. I believe there are like 10 websites run by X Technologies.

Search X Technologies on this website and you will see their low ratings. Anyway, I called them and the Customer Service/Tech Support people are absolutely rude and have no manner in which to speak. I told them I have an order, they said wait a couple of days. I asked them is the kit coming assembled, they said no, I said on the website it says "tested and assembled with 1 year warranty", they said it'll cost extra to assemble. I said What? I told them I want to cancel, they said we'll charge you to cancel. I finally convinced her of the deal, and she placed a note saying to assemble, I knew it wasnt going to get assembled by her attitude , this was on Nov.18 2002.

I waited a week, and it still said pending, I recieved a call saying the motherboard is out of stock, we should be getting it soon, I said ok, she offered another motherboard, but I wanted the one with SDRAM. Anyways, I kept calling every other day and often times they would say give me your order # and I'll call you back, our system is down, I never got a call back. Last Friday, I called and said I was told it was going to be shipped, Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Friday, why hasn't it been shipped, they said it'll get shipped this week. I called today and it wasn't shipped and still it was a maybe, this exactly after two weeks since I place the order. I said I want to cancel, and she said ok, I asked whether I would be charged, she said no, but I'm still waiting for the payment to post back to my credit card, they took the payment out the 3rd day when I placed the order.

This was the worse experience ever, and I still have not recieved the money yet, I am hoping they post it back. If you want to risk throwing away your money, then buy from these guys, but this is a first class scam. These guys dont care about anything except for charing your card.

DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!!! Lear from my experience, I have decided to go with mwave.com for the exact same combo, at least they have some good ratings. Also don't trust pricewatch.com its a waste of time, most of the dealers on there are the worse. Just use ncix.com , even if it costs a bit more.

Update- 12/03/02 - These guys are the worst human beings alive, I called to check whether my order had been cancelled after I had told the girl in customer service to cancel it, guess what, they never cancelled it. I called my credit card company and disputed the amount and called antaresnow and told them to cancel, finally they did, but I'm still waiting for my money to come back. The cust service had told me I should recieve a full refund, but then they changed to a 15% cancellation fee, hell no, im not paying a cancellation fee, i never got the order, plus, they've lied to me several times, pls do not buy from them, save yourself the trouble. This was the worst online experience I have ever had. I just hope I get my entire amount back, all this frustration for nothing, the best way to hurt these guys is by not buying from them at all, they run a complete scam!!!"

"Great People to deal with if you don't mind waiting two weeks for a system. I was able to customize the PC I wanted for a great price!! The only thing that you need to be weary of is that they don't always give you the same parts that you ordered.

ie: I ordered a case with front USB ports and mine does not have them. Oh well, I can always add ports to an empty drive bay when I am ready to use the front ports.

They packaged the product very good as the computer came without a ding or a scratch in sight. You know they really care about the customer when they take care of your computer all the way through shipment.
