Never purchase from this company

"NEVER EVER purchase from these jokers. I was told by customer service person Julio that I would receive my purchased product in "a few days." I needed it for film shoot. (insert laugh here)

I received an email saying it went arrive 7-10 days later. This is unacceptable and I wanted either a full refund or for them to expedite my purchased product in the promised time.

Was on the phone for an hour going in absolutely nonsensical circles with people that are either oblivious to common sense, or going off of a script. One person from the Philippines had no clue as to what she was saying. We will be sharing our experience with everyone.

"I ordered a macbook pro shipped to my address. Then I was hospitalized. I would not be able to be home to sign for it and they shipped the macbook pro and so I had ups update the shipping address to the other address in my adorama address book that I previously ordered stuff to, which was my parent's address. I sent adorama an email notifying them of this, along with a picture of my hospital wristband + injury + driver's license and a 2nd pic with headshot and driver's license. They said ok. But the day it was going to be delivered, adorama had UPS change the shipping status from out for delivery to request send back to seller. Seeing how they have 1 star here, I'm not surprised. They offered to have it shipped back out to my parents after it got back, but that would mean the laptop would be in my hands about 1month after I had ordered it, and I needed it sooner."

Do NOT deal with Adorama for trade-ins

"About a month ago, I decided that I wanted to trade in my camera equipment to upgrade to a newer camera model. I decided to try my luck with Adorama, which is a very large and popular retailer in the photography business. I have purchased several items in the past from them, both new and pre-owned. I have never had an issue with any previous purchases, but I have never used their trade in department. They were running a special offer allowing an extra $300 trade-in credit for the camera I wanted to purchase.
They recieved my trade-in equipment for evaluation on Monday, Feb 27th. I was told they would contact me within 5-7 business days. After 7 business days I tried to contact them and received an automated response saying the office was closed due to PURIM (A Jewish holiday that I was not familiar with and was not mentioned in any correspondence or on their website that they would be closed for). Ok, I can wait another day since the response said I would hear from them on Wednesday.
On Thursday (what happened to Wednesday?) I finally get a message saying my equipment was evaluated and I need to call Jack Gold at Adorama to discuss trade-in options. I called and instead was sent to talk to another gentleman (I forget his name) in the trade-in department that was in charge of Sony trade-ins. He initially low balled the value of my gear and told me there were no current promotions running for Sony equipment (contrary to the large banner ad on their website). I initially told them I was no longer interested and to return my gear. After a bit of back and forth, I ended up agreeing to a price that I considered fair. That was the "out the door" price, which to most of the world means including tax/shipping/etc.
Later checking my credit card app, I see that I was charged around $200 more than the agreed price. I immediately called and they said, that was the sales tax. I told them that's not what I consider to be "out the door" and asked them again to return my items. They seemed reluctant to return my items and eventually agreed to the original "out the door" price to include shipping and tax.
About an hour later I get a call and they tell me that they have a new price, which was about $100 more than the agreed upon "out the door" price. I asked what happened with our previous deal and was told that the manager wouldn't approve it. (Probably should have asked him before making the offer to a customer). I told him no deal and once again, asked for my gear to be returned. This time he agreed and said they would ship it back immediately.
The very next day, I get a call from Jack Gold himself (the guy I was to originally talk to about the trade in). I asked why he was calling and did they have the tracking number for my equipment. He asked what happened with the previous trade in offers and I explained the entire ordeal. At this point I was done with Adorama and just wanted my equipment returned. He makes an offer for around $100 less than the previously agreed upon "out the door" price. This time I asked if it included tax and he said no, tax would be on top of that. I told him no deal again. Just send my stuff back. He then agreed to go ahead and give me that price, so reluctantly I said yes (it's hard to pass up a good deal).
The next day I get an email with a tracking number saying that my camera was on the way! I was so happy I couldn't wait for it to finally arrive! The email included all of the details and the model number of the camera I ordered.
Friday, March 17th the package arrived. I opened the box and... they had sent a different model than I had ordered. (wah wah) I tried to call but by this time it was too late on a Friday afternoon and it was past business hours. I left scathing messages and emails voicing my extreme displeasure with Adorama. Nobody reponds.
I call again on Monday and they said they have no idea how that could have happened and immediately sent me a return label and PROMISED that they would cross ship the replacement so that I wouldn't have to wait any longer. I dropped it off at the UPS store Monday evening. It was received by them on Wednesday. I have yet to receive any tracking number on the replacement.
I just got off the phone again, and was told it would be overnighted and I should expect to receive a tracking number either later this evening or tomorrow. We will see...
I hope someone from #adorama reads this. I hope everyone else avoids their trade in department like the plague. Their trade in department is a complete joke. Google "Jack Gold Adorama". I wish I had.

Shipped my product quickly!

"I bought a couple of Fuji Instax printers and they arrived in 2 days. My kids are thrilled. I've purchased from them in the past and have not had major issues with anything. Any time there has been any sort of delay, they communicate in advance. "

SCAMMERS! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!

"This was by far the worst purchasing experience in my life!

Adorama are clearly fraudsters and seem to be repeating the same process on anyone who puts their trust in them.

They have taken full payment from me and clearly have no intention of supplying me with the purchased item.

I have made at least 15 attempts to get a refund for the unsent item and they have no intention of doing that either.

Since the start of this experience I have found out that they have a Trust Pilot rating of 1.9 out of 5 stars left by 1127 different people. And a 1 star rating on resellerratings.com from over 17,931 reviews, with most reviewers complaining of being scammed by Adorama and terrible customer service.

On the 19/02/23 I placed an order for the Varjo Aero virtual reality headset for $2108.47 from Adorama including $118.47 for expedited UPS international shipping.

On the 21/02/23 the order was marked as shipped.

I immediately called Adorama to ask about expected time for delivery and was advised the item had already left their facility on a long distance truck to the UPS office. Apparently for this reason it was not scanned by UPS.

I then called UPS multiple times over the next 4 days and was assured by UPS that they had not received the package from the seller, and that not a single scan had been made by UPS in nearly 4 days which in their words was “impossible”.

I then made multiple calls to Adorama and they have changed their story multiple times. They initially kept repeating the same story that the package was with UPS, then they told me the item had been delivered to my address. They then changed their minds again and said they will issue me a refund by end of day, then the next day they said I have to wait 2 business days for a refund. Now they are saying I have to wait for UPS to scan the package.

They know that UPS will never scan the package as Adorama have not handed the package over to UPS.

I have already reported them to the Federal Trade Commission and to Varjo Technologies, and I am now in the process of reporting them to their local consumer protection agency and the attorney general as I can see they are making a habit of committing fraud and stealing from innocent people.

I have handed over copies of all communication between Adorama and myself to my lawyers and they are making preparation to hold all parties involved accountable for this blatant act of repetitive fraud.

If you search Adorama and fraud in Google you will be shocked to see how many people are complaining of similar experience.

My advise is do not buy anything from Adorama or you will immediately regret it.

Misleading Seller Pages

"Bought a Sony a74 used online - Did not realize that for the same price you get different accessories included. The only way to know this fact is looking at a small box half way down the page hidden under other "Articles & Videos". My order did not include a $100 AC charger, but I paid the same for one that does include this expensive accessory. Then, when I called to figure out what happened and requested a full refund, I was hung up on. Scummy business practice and rude customer service.

ALSO: On their website they show a screenshot showing an average of 4.5 stars. As you can see (at the time of posting) their average is 1.5 stars.

WARNING: MISLEADING SHIPPING FAQ

"I found the exact camera I wanted for a fair price on this website. I decided to purchase it slightly used so it was a few hundred dollars cheaper.

I paid an extra $33 for next day shipping, which I believe implied it would be shipped the next day.

In their shipping FAQ it says under used items, "Most orders get shipped the same day if received, processed and verified by 1:00 P.M. ET (Eastern Time) Monday - Thursday, and before 8:30 A.M. ET (Eastern Time) on Friday. Orders received after these times or those which require verification (see below) will be processed the next business day."

I ordered it on Thursday, 2/2 before 12 PM CT. It is now at the end of the business day on the following Monday (2/6) and my order still has not been processed nor shipped.

I contacted customer service via their chatbot, and they advised me they have no idea when I will receive my order. They said that used items take longer because they need to receive it from their warehouse, which was not stated anywhere online.

I specifically asked if they knew on average how long it takes to receive items shipped from the warehouse and the agent said she does not know, it could be any amount of time, days or weeks.

So, I paid extra money for shipping that could have been free at this point, and no help from customer service to ease my concerns. I also have to delay projects I needed the camera for. Yikes!

Update: I called customer service instead of using the chatbot again to see if there was any update. There isn't, but he was much more helpful and did refund me for shipping costs since it did not ship out next day. This at least eases the financial concern but still frustrating when I was led to believe the camera could ship quickly. More transparency on their website about used items would probably help other buyers from experiencing the same thing.

Clear fraud

"Adorama sent me empty box from airpods and refuses to refund or send actual item. They are saying that serial number of box that I got doesn’t match serial number of what they supposedly sent. But box was taped. Who else had access to it if not adorama’s employees??? Who easily could take anything they want and swap boxes, so customer can’t get refund.
Biggest fraud I saw!! Stay away from this company!

Adorama Scam—Fraudulent Business Practices

"The following email correspondence is a summation of my experience with Adorama.

Email subject: Customer Complaint—Legal Action Required?

Attn: Support,

Email correspondence between myself and a Avi Hadef of Adorama began Aug 5, 2022, 11:15 AM.

The following low hours equipment was confirmed shipped Fri, August 12th, 2022, and acknowledged by Avi Hadef Aug 12, 2022, 12:35 PM.

* Canon EOS R

* Canon 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Macro Lens

* Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM A (Art) Lens

* BM Premium Camera Power and Care Bundle

* JJC Lens Mount Adapter

After 7 days with no correspondence from Adorama, I contacted Avi Hadef on Aug 19, 2022 at 11:03 AM stating the aforementioned gear was confirmed delivered two days prior on Wednesday, August 17th and received by a "SLATER''. Avi Hadef responded the same day with: "Hi! - Package is on our loading dock. We will email you once unloaded. Thanks!."

12 days later, I contacted Avi Hadef with: "Hello, I am requesting an update on the status of my gear. Last correspondence was 12 days ago on August 19th."

Avi Hadef responded: "Hi! Please call Jack at x2107 in about an hour for status update. thanks!" Adorama trains employees' communicative skills to respond with "in about an hour".

As a business professional, I repeatedly stated, "Email correspondence is required due to travel" but was ignored and urged to call. With that said, I made time to call a "Jack Gold" on September 1st as well as today, September 2nd to no avail. After repeated call attempts (x3) a text message was sent to "Jack Gold".

Adorama has been in possession of my gear, valued at $3000, since August 17th, which is 16 days as of today.

The lack of communication, efficiency, and professionalism of Adorama and its staff has cost me valuable options and time.

Circling back to the attached screenshot, we requested all equipment be shipped back today.

Result: If I do not receive a confirmation email by the end of Monday, September 5th stating my gear is being expedited back to me in the exact order and condition it was received, I will consider this nearly month long correspondence as part of a larger fraudulent business practice and move forward accordingly.

Punchline:

Adorama was only prompt to respond to all correspondence when it was to sell me on selling them my gear; purposefully over-quoting my gear initially in an attempt to gain my confidence to lowball me afterwards. Adorama wasted 5 weeks of my time and returned my equipment carelessly and haphazardly with half of the equipment not wrapped properly, much less professionally.

Adorama is incompetent, uncooperative, fraudulent, and should be investigated.

DO NOT BUY FROM ADORAMA! SCAM FOR 1,300$ CPU

"Adorama Customer Service and shipping are a joke. Ordered this 1,300$ CPU, got Canon Paper. This I believe was intentional as I contacted the company, got bounced around the customer service for over a week, told me they couldnt help. I had ... to escalate... to Amazon to get this fixed. I showed the movies from RING, picture still frames, etc showing they sent me a LARGE box when aCPU box is small (fit in one hand...)

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ADORAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They wouldnt escalate or refund, just asked me to send the CPU back. What... the heck?? Will never purchase from them, I'd recommend you do the same. Never more disappointed in what I thought was a "Large company" being no better then scam fraudster overseas selling "parts" in the US.

Sending broken camera, hold orders after paid the next day delivery and REFUSE to refund

"I bought DJI picket 2 packages with the next day delivery, shipping for that was pretty expensive.
But ADORAMA didn’t sent completed packages. One of my order was backholder. And also the camera was broken, zoom in and out was not working at all.
After 2 weeks the rest of my order never arrived. I returned it because they sent me a broken camera and hold the rest of my order.
After more than 7 days I was waiting for my refund, I never came and the CS’s said they would solve my problems.
They REFUSED to refund my money. Never ever buying stuffs at Adorama !! They are NOT RESPONSIBLE SELLER

DO NOT BUY FROM ADORAMA!! They cannot be trusted.

"Purchased from Adorama twice, both were a disaster. Their website may say in stock, but it's probably not. (took a week to ship "in stock" items, then customer service said they were waiting for a new order to come in...Hmm....) Customer service is awful - I hate to be rude but it's like talking to a brick wall. Over 30 years in music and this is the worst experience I've ever had. My recent order was two, 100 pound, powered subwoofer speakers. They arrived in original (from Italy) boxes, which were basically shot. Two subs have 16 corners total, and 12 of them were damaged, both the wood cabinet and the grills. Grills were bent on the corners such that the centers bulged out from the cab and rattle when in use. They offered $200 refund total. That's 6% of the purchase price without tax, and not even half what it will cost to repair these "New" subs. Over a week to review my initial damage photos, then another week and a half of me trying to reach an acceptable compromise of an industry standard 15%. All the while, they are threatening that UPS has been instructed to pick up the subs for a return, even though I told them three times the boxes were destroyed and I was not agreeing to return them at this time. Finally, today, after I had sent them many more damage pix and explanations, they stood frozen on their original $200 offer and UPS knocked on my door. Unbelievable! I apologized for the incompetence of Adorama to the UPS driver and took the $200. I also told Adorama that this is the last penny of my hard-earned money they will ever see, and that anyone within my sphere of influence will hear this story. I've never had a vendor so unwilling to do what's right for their customers. Shoot, even Guitar Center refunded me 15%, with one phone call and no questions asked, on a bass guitar that was supposed to be new in box but was obviously a floor model and missing it's hex wrenches. Pretty sad when GC makes you look that bad on customer service... "
