This company is not who you think they are

"When searching for a Dakota Alert driveway alarm I found the one on the Dakota Alert website and purchased it. When I got the confirmation email it came from this company; Absolute Automation. I didn't think anything of it until the alarm started having errors and when I called Dakota Alert I was told that I did not have the 60 day warranty they offered but only a 30 day warranty from Absolute Automation who I never heard of. When I emailed Absolute Automation I got several emails on how they wanted to help but when I asked for a refund I was ignored. Now I have to email the Michigan attorney general office to get my money back. It's a shame that companies are allowed to fool you into thinkin they are the same as the manufacture when they are not!"

"I have been an online shopper for many years but the best experience in all those years has been with Absolute Automation.
After ordering my Dakota driveway alarm system I needed lots of assistance to get it installed. I spoke to several employees over a few days and was able to successfully install the system.
So I wish to thank Monica, Victor Sean and Joe, without their guidance I would have never got it done.

Driveway sensor

"Just wanted to let everyone know that I recently had a great customer service experience with Absolute Automation. I had purchased last October 2018, and Dakota driveway probe and wireless receiving unit. It started acting up and not working properly in March. I called the company, got a return authorization, and within a week of them receiving the old unit, I had a new unit shipped to my house that is now working fine.

Highly recommend this company and would absolutely use them again for any purchases.

"I was shopping around online and found this company, based on other prices on the net, Absolute Automation seemed to have a better price than found elsewhere. Plus free shipping! I called to make sure everything was in stock ( i do this even if it shows in stock online) The rep was incredibly helpful, they knew what i wanted and actually suggested me a product that was perfect for my needs that i completely missed! I ordered it with that Rep, and it arrived within 2 days!! Since I have done many purchases through their website, I find they maintain the site and never had any stock issues! I wouldn't go anywhere else for my automation needs! Thank you absolute, I am a customer for life! "

Magnetic Probe Driveway Alert System

"First, customer service. I had an extensive chat with customer service rep Mike. He was very patient and helpful. I needed help setting up the SpotProtect dry contact sensor notification details for email and SMS notification. He patiently guided me through the process. Mike has been the bright spot in my experience so far.
Now, documentation. I received absolutely no documentation whatsoever on the SpotProtect WiFi sensor with my order from Absolute Automation. I contacted them and they emailed me a setup guide. Without that information I had nothing; no email address, no customer service number, no information on where to get the setup utility or the USB device driver. for the WiFi sensor.
The SpotProtect account setup was troublesome. I am a private homeowner. Account setup wanted to know the name of my business, the type of business, the type of industry, etc. You can't leave those questions blank so I just picked choices from the drop-down list. Then it told me there was already an account set up under that name. A voice conversation solved the problem, but there shouldn't have been a problem.
So thanks to Mike I have the WiFi sensor reporting by email, but there is a problem on my Cellular carrier's end making SMS work properly.
Cost was high, but there just are not any alternatives if you want a magnetic sensor and data logging to the cloud.
I cannot comment on the Dakota Alert magnetic sensor and transmitter-receiver yet. It is not set up. However, if it provides a reliable contact closure to SpotProtect everything should be OK.

"We have used Absolute Automation Driveway Alarms for years and have had excellent performance from them. We live down a long drive and the alarm gives us time to respond; without them we would have people on our door- step without any warning. We highly recommend this equipment to anyone who is considering such a purchase."
