"My wife purchased some Bose QC15 headphones for Xmas 2013 for me, just under a year later I had an issue with them. I contacted AV123 and without any hassle, they offered a couple of options and what could have been a huge headache and hassle was resolved. Excellent service."

It is with profound sadness that we are announcing the closing of AV123/Perpetual Technologies effective today.

We join in sending all of you our sincerest thanks and deepest appreciation for your support through these last 11+ years. Our history is rich with wonderful products and happy moments, all in the name of making great music affordable for all of you.

Sadly, recent events have cast a very unfavorable light on AV123 and have effectively sealed our collective fate. We hope that over time, we will be able to offer more information.

No amount of thanks on our part would ever be adequate enough in exchange for your past support.

Shortly we hope to be able to offer you more information about how to obtain MFW15 amplifiers should you require one. Please stay tuned to this page for updates. We hope to have this in place within the next few weeks.

This was somewhat surprising as I had never heard much unfavorable chatter about AV123 outside a handful of audio forums, and the occasional, ubercritical product review. My own experiences were limited to an okay, single special deal set--which weren't top of the line products, but more than enough for what I required at the time regarding quality and price-range, and halfway decent (albeit dragged out) dealings with customer service.

Every piece of hardware AV123 has produced has been gorgeous to behold, although aurally... it's up to the audiophile (post-thorough A-B-ing) to determine what works "best". Their selling point was usually price, so it could be assumed that certain design sacrifices were made to make the higher-end items available to more consumers.

Nevertheless, it seems as though if a number of issues regarding negative forum activity/publicity, e.g., http://www.timescall.com/news_story.asp?ID=20988, their (too?-)personal marketing tactics, product quality, and not-so-hot business practices have hastened their demise.

I don't really care to look deeper into the whole slew of issues prior to the owner's final scam:

"I found this company a couple of years ago when I saw a local ad with someone selling their "Rocket RS750" front speakers.

I researched the company and speakers and everything I found was positive so I bought them and really loved them. I then bought some "B" stock RSS300 dipole surround speakers that are great.

To finally complete my system, I bought a "B" stock RSC200 center from them, which I received today. It looks brand new and sounds fantastic.

I couldn't be happier with the speakers that I have bought from them and the times that I have spoke with their customer service people, they have been very nice and helpful (the owner even answered the phone a couple of times when I called and was nice enough to answer some questions for me).

These speakers are very well made (and very heavy). They look beautiful and sound great (what's not to like?).

You can't find speakers of this quality at local places like Best Buy or ABC Warehouse (and especially at these prices).

"About 5 years ago, I purchased a pair of Onix Rocket Sig 750s after listening to many, many different speakers. I've enjoyed listening to them on my home stereo ever since.

Time passed . . . .

I'm now building a home theater in my bedroom and I want Rockets in it. Before my purchase I read on a message board that the company had some recent troubles. So, before I put down my cash I wanted to make sure everything was OK.

A great thing about this small company is that you can pick up the phone and get to speak to the owner directly. There are not many companies where you can do that. I spoke with both Mark and Suzanne at AV123. They explained that they had a few bumps in the road but they were back on track again. They were an outstanding company before so I had no doubts they’d be back to that level in no time.

AV123 has amazingly low prices for the quality of speaker they sell. But because I wanted to save a little this time, I opted to buy a pair of "B-Stock" RS450s instead of new. The price for these speakers was too good to pass up. I still can't believe what I paid.

The speakers arrived on time via UPS. As usual the speakers were double boxed and contained some serious cushioning to keep them safe. Each speaker was packaged in its own cotton "sock" for protection. They also provide a pair of cotton gloves for handling the speakers. Impressive.

Despite their "B-Stock" designation these speakers are beautiful and sound incredible! They are exactly what I was looking for. They even sound better than my 750s because the 750s are stuck in a really small room about 4 feet from my office chair and the 450s have a nice size room to really spread the sound.

And now the “needs to improve” area: Despite a very smooth transaction there is always room to improve. I sent an email to the general "sales" mailbox a few days before my purchase but never received a response. I know AV123 is no different than most companies in keeping up with incoming mail but I really think this should be a priority.

I am happy to say when I decided to call I was immediately connected to Mark and we spent several minutes discussing my needs and what he had to offer. Also, when I sent email directly to Mark the responses were almost immediate. It's just the general "sales" email that needs improvement.

Overall, the transaction was super smooth. I received a pair of beautiful speakers for a price too low to mention and they came with outstanding customer service and timely shipping. I don't doubt that AV123 had some recent bumpy times but from what I can see they are making a great effort to make up for past problems.

No doubt I will be buying from them again. Thanks AV123!

"After years of research on Home Theater and Speakers on audio forums such as avsforum.com and audioholics.com I found myself attracted to these speakers named Rockets made by a small Internet Direct company AV123.com. They had a big sale during the Fall of 2007 but I wasn't ready to purchase and when I finally did decide to buy...The sale was over and out of stock.

But fortunately for me, the owner of AV123 announced that we can continue to order for the "on sale price" but that it won't arrive until the Spring of 2008. Being nearly half off, I couldn't resist the sale price and accepted that offer knowing I won't see it any time soon.

Months passed and my speaker finally arrived. Wow!!! I can't say enough about how great their packaging was. Not a single dent or scratch on my speaker boxes. It came in a pallet.

The speakers were amazing and huge. Each box came with white gloves so that I can take these speakers out without getting my finger prints on them. These speakers are nicely made, better than any of my furniture. These speakers are quite heavy too. For example, my main front speakers weighed in at 100 pounds each speaker.

After my speakers are connected and calibrated, these are an amazing speakers for their price range. I feel like I own $6,000 speaker system for half the price. If you are looking for amazing speakers without the retail price of retail stores, AV123 will be an excellent choice. I feel like I am at the movie theater. An amazing feelings. Excellent floor standing speakers and their center is nick name...Big Foot. Wow!!! No more moving my volume up and down to listen when I watch movies.

Excellent customer service, not only from the customer service dept. but from the owner himself as well. Mark, the owner many times will respond to customers who feels they need to talk to him. In this day and age, you'll be lucky to get a live person on the phone but to be able to reach the OWNER...that says a lot.

02/2010 Update...Since my first purchased of my Rockets. I recently bought from AV123 again (3 times to be exact within the past couple of months). Once again, I received great services from AV123. All my order where in stock and arrived at my home under a 10 day period.

These speakers are in great shape. This time around, the speakers weren't shipped on a pallet but none the less, they made it to me in great shape.
