HORRIBLE customer service

"My mother passed and it was a nightmare cancelling her phone. They kept billing her even after we provided a death certificate. The is the WORST company I’ve ever had to deal with! I would choose a different company if you are shopping!!!!"

AT&T is the worst Network Provider

"I have been using AT&T and I noticed a trend about how hard it takes to port from AT&T to another network provider. They intentionally make you walk in circles while trying to port your number so as to get you frustrated intentionally. It took me 4hrs on the phone trying to port from AT&T to T-Mobile and I am yet to have it resolved. The offices are closed and I have to call back the next day. Never experienced such a terrible service before. Don’t try using AT&T. The service is bad and slow and the customer service is crap. "

2 hours on hold for help with a return dead battery case.

"Bought a iPhone smart battery case for a Xs Max. Didn’t work DOA. 1st time I called they had a attitude and said if I was a at&t customer they would have help me. After arguing with her she emailed me a return label but no replacement or refund Happened after returning it and then 3 weeks later went to a at&t store. Not a customer we can’t help you. Called 2 different customer service lines both put me on hold then transferred me, hung up on me, and when I finally got someone they didn’t speak English well. Gave him my tracking number 999999999. As you can guess they gave me a bogus tracking number which is not my problem. In the long run after ruining a day of mine I just notified my credit card company and they credited my account. NEVER BUY ANYTHING OFF A AT&T WEBSITE ESPECIALLY IF YOU DONT HAVE SERVICE WITH THEM. LESSON LEARNED. "

" They told me that can get account of 6 lines for 25 they took over $4,000 and then I was trying to call customer service but they weren’t answering me they kept hanging up on me and they said that they couldn’t help me and they were just making excuses and I try to talk to the manager And then I went back to the store at 4:00pm and I am just coming to my house and right now it is 7:43pm.THEY RIPPED ME OFF "

AT&T Garbage Business Practices

"I placed an order online for the new iPhone 13 pro max plus to set up new service and transfer my number from my current provider to AT&T.
After running my credit and accepting all terms, uploading my ID, they charge my credit card and everything was a go. That night, the order was canceled because they couldn't verify the order was placed by me.
I call in the next day and they reapplied for everything for the second time. Once again, I uploaded my ID and they charged my credit card again.
The next morning, the new order was canceled yet again.
I call back in and they walked through yet another new application. Again. I uploaded my ID, we checked all the boxes and yes. They charged my credit card for a 3rd time. They promised everything was good to go.
By that days end, I get yet another email stating this order was canceled for the same reason... they dont know if the order actually came from me.
The following morning, I actually drove over an hour and a half one way.to an AT&T store and explained everything that was going on to the store manager. She looked up the order.and found the problem they were reporting was my zip code was incorrect on the phone number port with my existing provider.
The store manager called into AT&T and in turn, ATT, myself, the store manager and the rep from my current provider was all on a 3-way call to resolve the issue.
Everything was finally good to go. They even processed my trade in on my current phone and was good to go... the order was placed for the phone and yes, my ID was uploaded once again by the store manager AND yes, my credit card hit again. I left happy and was anticipating the arrival of the new phone. But when I woke up the next morning... yep, you guessed it. It was canceled AGAIN, for the same reason... they couldn't verify the order actually cane from me. I called in once again and the rep on the phone said I had to reapply in person at the store...which is an hour and a half drive one way.
I asked if when it canceled my phone order, if it also canceled any pending contract and she confirmed it did. I said thank you but I'm taking my business elsewhere.

AT&T... You are a complete waste of time and you lost my business for life. There is no way anyone should ever have to go through this.
Not only did you charge my card 4 times, but you also put an additional $1 hold for each transaction on top of the original charges. I hope you release these $1 holds too. You deserve nothing from me.
BEWARE FOLKS! This is shady business practices.
How can you not verify the order came from me when you had my Social Security number, my ID, my phone number, my address, and you ran my credit... not to mention that ive even went in person to an authorized AT&T retail store and went through the entire process with the store manager who also had my current provider on the other line confirming my account with them to you.
Are you waiting some sort of DNA blood sample? Never again.
Go elsewhere folks... trust me. Read others comments. Google their complaints. It's very common with them.

Garbage customer service

"Customer service is pure garbage. I had a billing issue after my wireless service was canceled. I called 15 times in the span of 5 months and spent countless hours on the issue with the phone rep. First of all, it takes them at least 5 transfers to get you to the right department. Second, they promised me my issue was taken care of each time only to find out weeks later that it wasn’t from final notice letters sent in the mail. Lastly, I was sent to collections for a bill that I disputed for months that was incorrect that they could never resolve. Absolute garbage of a company. Will never in my life pay them for any service again, even if they are the only option. "

Do not deliver on promises. Poor customer service and tech help

"Have been a customer 14 months. Promised $300 Visa card when signed up in Bensalem, PA AT&T store - Never happen even after speaking to regional manager - he dropped the ball. Coverage has been spotty in some areas. We went all in, buying three phones, an iPad Pro, and TV service. My current bill is $298 a month for phones and iPad and $93 for TV service.

TV service internet streaming is always losing connection while running on a gigabit Verizon internet plan. AT&T home internet was not available in our area.

After having Verizon for 20 years it became too expensive to upgrade phones. No offers were made so we switched to AT&T. Their offer was too good to be true We didn’t get $300 Visa card promised and TV service doubled in year two. AT&T was not up front about TV service cost and we were told to buy Roku in order to stream on other TV’s. Brought Roku and was unable to stream TV service. When I went back to store, they said a mistake was made and kindle stick had to be used instead and offered a 10% discount on it. The markup on the kindle stick was double the price compared to buying it directly from Amazon. Therefore no savings for their mistake. Employees did not know information about TV product.

We became so frustrated with AT&T that we opted to pay 10 months remaining on three phones less any discounts. We paid upfront $1,160 to leave AT&T because it was so bad. We also plan to break our TV contract because it”s a terrible service and very expensive for what you get. It”s worth paying $60 to break with service to get a more stable connection than internet service and at a cheaper price for a higher channel selection and actual cable connection.

We switched to T-Mobile for better coverage and MUCH lower phone plan rate.

AT&T processed our $1,160 payment right away, but said it could be at least a 7 day wait to transfer our phone numbers to T-Mobile. NO phone service yet so far after two days and still waiting! I am stuck in limbo with no phone service all because of AT&T. Went to Bensalem, PA store, where they gladly processed our payment, but they said the ONLY way to transfer service was in their app. Well I was locked out of app for 24hrs trying to transfer service and it said I would have to wait at least 48 hrs for payment to process. The app provided a number to call when I was locked out of account. I called to get the account unlocked so I could transfer the phone numbers. The person on the phone took information from me and opened a case file for each phone and said it could take 4 days for resolution of case.

AT&T doesn’t”t care about you at all after you switch to them and they especially make it VERY difficult to leave. Considering this is our only phone service, we cannot make or receive phone calls, messages, and etc. There should be a law enacted to prevent this from happening. We are scared in case of emergency and have been cut off from our only form of communication. One of the three lines a nurse uses to provide essential help, which can”t be done right now. This has disrupted her from doing her essential job and is preventing her from keeping in touch with her frail and elderly mom; and also from family, friends, everyone!

Rip off company

"Signed up with Att a year ago, I also signed up for Auto pay. Mow that my year is up my bill went up 240.00 a year with no notice. This is ridiculous. Unfortunately they know they have you stuck with them. They don't care it's a take it or leave it company. Customer service is the worst."

They **** 100% hands down.

"So last year during the pandemic I was furloughed. I called ATT to cancel my services with direct tv as that bill is one that can go at the time. When I signed up I asked multiple times that I do not wish to be bound to a contract and would like to know if I could do month to month. I was told not a problem. Well fast forward to the pandemic, when I canceled it was just a simple ok we understand and that was it. Now again I did forget to return the equipment but have now have done so as I was told by a ATT rep that the amount owed me n my account was for the equipment. Ok so I returned said equipment, now 1 1/2 months later bill is still showing amount due. Called today to o to find out that the amount due was due to a contract which I specifically said I did not want nor did I get any kind of contract paperwork. So what is owed is what’s left on the contract not the equipment like I was told. I was also told that during the pandemic they were offering their customers a chance to cancel this said contract be sue if what was going on. I asked well if that was offered and you can clearly see I canceled in June of 2020 obviously that wa souring the pandemic, so I asked if there was anything ATT is willing to do and was told no and that they understand my frustration. First off no you don’t, second off ATT **** very badly. We hav exchanged over to ATT for our mobile provider and now with this being an “outstanding balance” I cannot add anything or upgrade phones or anything on my wireless bill for their employee not doing what they were supposed to do at that time. I will be 100% cancelling my wireless bill after this contract which I knew about this time is done and over. Do yourself a huge favor and go to a competitor of ATT. They are very dishonest in the way they conduct business, it seems they set things in place but allow their employees to do as they please. Steer clear of this disgusting business as all they want to do is take your money and obviously don’t care about their customers. I know I’m just a penny in the jar with 100s of thousands of others, but damn it this is just down right wrong. "

"AT&T has representatives they can read from a script but cannot logically think through any solutions. Many calls with broken promises and, no follow through, and customer service to resolve the issue tanks. Bottom line- if I did not have to do business with them I wouldn’t!"

Atnt reps lie for a sale and customer service can’t even help

"I have been a customer with atnt on a family plan for more than 5 years. I have not upgraded my phone with atnt ever since we signed on. Just this Feb 6th I went in to look at what I can upgrade to and was told I can do a trade in with them. I was informed by a rep Spencer Wilt that my iPhone 7plus with 128gb qualifies for a value worth over the $100 to get me the iPhone 12 Pro and they will be paying $700 and I will be paying the remaining $300 and some change. Which over a period of 30 months it would cost me only $10 extra a month. On this day they didn’t have the 12pro in store so we had to order it and wait for it to come in on feb 18th I went in Atnt store to activate and trade my old phone in. Spencer wilt told me that if my bill isn’t right to call Atnt and he also gave me his card.I received my first bill after the trade in for my phone to be $30 extra a month. When I called him he didn’t answer nor is he in the store for the next few days as I was told by a manger named Logan. I proceed to call the loyalty line for atnt they have told me that we apologize that the rep lied to u, but on our end we can’t do anything and you only qualify for us to cover about $350 dollars. After an hour on the phone I have asked since I am only 14 days into having this phone can I get my old phone back that is unlocked and fully paid for and give this back as I do not wish to pay a price I never agreed to. They stated that is not a possibility because it was already shipped. I asked if I can get the same kind of phone unlocked and that wasn’t an option either. My only option was to go in and get another phone that’s cheaper to pay the price I was told I would for this phone which is $10 a month with a phone I don’t wish to have. Or pay this one off fully which is the $1000 and that would be my only way to get out and leave atnt. They suggested to go in and file a complaint on Spencer Wilt which would still not change anything on my account as to what it was agreed to in store. I was also informed that the person in store isn’t able to make any changes as they don’t have the ability to. which brings me back to the same issue. This is not the first problem I have had on this family plan with atnt. With no option of even getting my phone back they leave you to have to pay a full amount for a phone. Atnt hires employees whom lie to you for a sale and then they cannot even help you fix the issue on their end or undo it. Just leave you with a sorry that we can’t do anything. I would never sign up with atnt if I was in your shoes. "

If I could give less than one star I would.

"If I could give less than one star I would. I had the worst experience all the time with customer service and for the last few months even with the connection. Customer service will transfer you from one person to another and so on for 4-8 times. No one will fix your issue if you have one. They hang up to your calls . Looking at other reviews I am not the only one with this opinion. If you call them get ready to waste a lot of time for nothing, you might get very frustrated after about 45 minutes on the phone with no results. Switch to a different carrier as I did and enjoy your life away from AT$T"

Hidden fees and year or two contracts

"They don’t tell you everything. And there’s hidden fees and it’s a pain to switch to somewhere else after realizing that at&t is ****. To cancel your plans early before the hidden contracts is up you have to pay 300 dollars give or take right then and there before they cancel it. It’s just all in all **** place internet **** tv spins and spins trying to load cause internet ****. Don’t go here all it is is just to pull you in and trap you "
