Atnt reps lie for a sale and customer service can’t even help

"I have been a customer with atnt on a family plan for more than 5 years. I have not upgraded my phone with atnt ever since we signed on. Just this Feb 6th I went in to look at what I can upgrade to and was told I can do a trade in with them. I was informed by a rep Spencer Wilt that my iPhone 7plus with 128gb qualifies for a value worth over the $100 to get me the iPhone 12 Pro and they will be paying $700 and I will be paying the remaining $300 and some change. Which over a period of 30 months it would cost me only $10 extra a month. On this day they didn’t have the 12pro in store so we had to order it and wait for it to come in on feb 18th I went in Atnt store to activate and trade my old phone in. Spencer wilt told me that if my bill isn’t right to call Atnt and he also gave me his card.I received my first bill after the trade in for my phone to be $30 extra a month. When I called him he didn’t answer nor is he in the store for the next few days as I was told by a manger named Logan. I proceed to call the loyalty line for atnt they have told me that we apologize that the rep lied to u, but on our end we can’t do anything and you only qualify for us to cover about $350 dollars. After an hour on the phone I have asked since I am only 14 days into having this phone can I get my old phone back that is unlocked and fully paid for and give this back as I do not wish to pay a price I never agreed to. They stated that is not a possibility because it was already shipped. I asked if I can get the same kind of phone unlocked and that wasn’t an option either. My only option was to go in and get another phone that’s cheaper to pay the price I was told I would for this phone which is $10 a month with a phone I don’t wish to have. Or pay this one off fully which is the $1000 and that would be my only way to get out and leave atnt. They suggested to go in and file a complaint on Spencer Wilt which would still not change anything on my account as to what it was agreed to in store. I was also informed that the person in store isn’t able to make any changes as they don’t have the ability to. which brings me back to the same issue. This is not the first problem I have had on this family plan with atnt. With no option of even getting my phone back they leave you to have to pay a full amount for a phone. Atnt hires employees whom lie to you for a sale and then they cannot even help you fix the issue on their end or undo it. Just leave you with a sorry that we can’t do anything. I would never sign up with atnt if I was in your shoes. "

If I could give less than one star I would.

"If I could give less than one star I would. I had the worst experience all the time with customer service and for the last few months even with the connection. Customer service will transfer you from one person to another and so on for 4-8 times. No one will fix your issue if you have one. They hang up to your calls . Looking at other reviews I am not the only one with this opinion. If you call them get ready to waste a lot of time for nothing, you might get very frustrated after about 45 minutes on the phone with no results. Switch to a different carrier as I did and enjoy your life away from AT$T"

Hidden fees and year or two contracts

"They don’t tell you everything. And there’s hidden fees and it’s a pain to switch to somewhere else after realizing that at&t is ****. To cancel your plans early before the hidden contracts is up you have to pay 300 dollars give or take right then and there before they cancel it. It’s just all in all **** place internet **** tv spins and spins trying to load cause internet ****. Don’t go here all it is is just to pull you in and trap you "

No ethics & horrible service

"My initial call to their sales team was full of lies and false promises on the installation date, features etc. After my first call this afternoon, it took 4 hours of my day and speaking to 5 representatives to get to make sure my installation was cancelled and to confirm that the first rep I spoke to made false promises on several details simply to close the sale. They raised countless red flags in our interactions and they really do go out of their way to prove that they run on zero business ethics. I'll be keeping an eye on my credit card and getting ready to escalate this in as many ways as possible, including a report to the BBB. For all it's imperfections, you're much better off staying with Comcast if they're your only 2 choices. "

Disgusted

"Went to 2 ATT& stores in Pittsburgh Pa. Both of them the employees were extremely unhelpful. Actually one sold me a phone that was already refurbished and it supposed to be a new Iphone 12. The second store I went, the employee was trying to convince me about the phone quality when he couldn't even recognize the type of phone he had in front of him. This is the most disgusting experience I ever had with ATT and Ive been a customer since they brought Cingular back in mid 2000. I am taking my loss on the money I spent on the phone and I definitely look for a different provider. Heads up everyone, AT&T is NOT the business to spend your money on."

"I've been going to att store in marshall for about 4 years and there seems to new people although no one's been out ride rude the customer ok a bit dry. My last visit I had lost my phone and share an account with my sister:, we'll she was out of country so to make a long story I wen to at store and met Brittany we had trouble getting into my account after trying several things I had go and figure how to find the password came back and dealt with Liz they went out of the way to really help get my phone but no avail I had to work.so they gave a business card and told me call when I was ready to turn it on..I called and talk to Liz and we couldn't get it on. So I had to call back at Liz had left Brittany. Stayed after her shift to help me out and finally got my phone on. It's refreshing to find guinine caring employees that care. Brittany and Liz are a great asset to Att store.its refreshing to find outstanding customer service employees like these two ."

"I placed an online order for 4 OtterBox Armor Series iPhone cases and they canceled my order while it still shows they are in stock for store pickup. They do this to a lot of people all the time. It is usually a waste to even bother ordering anything from their online store.

Update 6/9/14: Still the same problems from trying to order online from at&t. This time for a Nokia Fatboy Black Wireless Charging Pillow. I just received a cancellation email for this item which I ordered on 6/6/14. The reason for the cancellation is a lie saying they were unable to verify my information. I also have two orders sitting in limbo for the Nokia White Wireless Charging Plate. One order was placed on 6/1/14. This time I will be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint. They play this game too much with a lot of people, and I will not let them get away with it.

"On April 13, 2007 I ordered a simple wall phone model #240. Received it on April 19, 2007. When hocking it up I found out the called id part was not fully working. The display was half working. I called and asked for a refund. I was told a "Return Label" will be e-mailed to me within 24-48 hours. I called 3 days later and was told the same thing. I have called 5 times and get a different story every time from the label is processing to the e-ail server is down up upgrades. Its been 13 days since I requested a return and I am still looking at this box. I will never buy anything else form them and I'm thinking about switching long distance phones companies as well."
