Yahoo! Domains

I paid $34.95 on 8-17-2010 for a five–year renewal of an Internet domain. On 8-17-2011 I was automatically charged again for $34.95. I emailed Yahoo about this issue on 8-18-2011 and received a telephone call on 8-19-2011. I spoke first to Steve and then to his supervisor Heather. (The Yahoo case number is 12118324.) Though the 8-17-2010 invoice states “Service: Yahoo! Domains setup 5 years,” and though there is no other itemization on the invoice stating that I actually renewed for just one year, Heather now asserts that I really only renewed for one year in both 2010 and 2011. She further asserts that the terms of this one-year renewal are stated on a contract that, while at her instruction I was able find during our conversation, I am not able to find at all on the Yahoo site now. It is not accessible from either the invoice or (as far as a ten-minute search could ascertain) from my account. Further, when, during our conversation, I did go the site she mentioned, I found a document that, printed, would probably be between ten and fifteen pages long. I am guessing that the pertinent statement within the document is carefully embedded somewhere difficult to spot; I was not able to find it as I spoke to Heather. Further, when I asked for an itemization for my 2011 invoice (in other words an invoice directly stating how long my renewal period is for), she refused. Finally, and without permission, Yahoo canceled my account, so that I no longer own the domain but I am also not being refunded. Yahoo will renew for $111.00

Non-delivery of item and potential damage to credit rating.
I ordered a WII Fit from Parent Company's onnline subsidiary, eToys (1099 18th St., Denver, CO 80238) for $100.88 ($89.99 + $2.84 Sales Tax + $8.05 Shipping). The invoice (Order # 14618834) gave an "Estimated Delivery Date" of January 27 - February 4. After passing up several opportunities to buy this difficult-to find product elsewhere, I received an email from eToys on January 20 that not only informed me that my order was canceled, but also that my credit rating was in danger as a result of their cancellation: "You may want to contact your issuing credit card company or bank and address the specific reason for this cancellation. Also, to help prevent future order cancellations, you may wish to update the information on file with your credit card company to include a current phone number and any addresses to which you wish to ship orders."
In short, they did not deliver the product and they may have damaged either my credit card account or my credit rating through their unexplained cancellation.

Summary: Vox hard drive stopped after a month; Vox returned the drive unfixed after I sent it to them for repair; Vox only responded after I contacted the BBB, and then unsatisfactorily; Vox promised a new RMA and promised to call, neither of which happened; I have been without my backup hard drive for over a month, with no end in sight.

I ordered the Vox 750GB 3.5in USB 2.0 & eSATA External Hard Drive on April 1, 2008 from Buy.com. The warranty is for one year. The unit stopped functioning around May 23, 2008 (less than two months after purchase). When the unit is plugged in to a computer and the power switch is turned on, nothing happens. I emailed a request to Vox for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) to have the unit repaired or replaced. The Vox representative--Luis Ortega--asked me to email a receipt, which I did. Having received authorization, I mailed the unit back on May 30. (I had to pay for shipping.) I received it back on June 15. It still did not function. I emailed Luis Ortega and Cameron Willbon at Vox on June 16 and then again on June 18. June 19 I lodged a complaint with the BBB, and emailed Vox with that news, after which I finally received an email (June 19) from Cameron Willbon asking for my phone number, which I promptly sent. I never received any calls. June 26 Cameron Willbon emailed me to say that a new RMA would be forthcoming in "2-3 days." As of today (June 30), no RMA has arrived. In sum, I have been without my backup external hard drive for over a month now.
