These people are theives, plain and simple. They ran a great sale, but refused to ship the items purchased. Then they charge your credit card for a higher amount then the merchandise and shipping of the original order. AVOID THEM!!!!

About a year ago, I placed an order with this internet jewelry company. They totally botched up the order, and merchandise. It was obviously defective, but shipped anyway. When I called to complain, they remembered the order and said that they were hoping I liked it anyway. Bottom line, they made good on that order.

Now a year later, I figured I would give them another chance. I ordered two rings. The order was placed on the internet after I spoke to their sales guy for about 15 minutes.

The day that the order was to arrive (location of seller was 15 miles from my home in adjacent state), I received nothing. I called asking for a tracking number only to be told that the order was not shipped and that the previous salesman had "lied" to me about availibility. The two items were in stock and would be shipped that day, with me receiving the merchandise the next day. The next day nothing, so I called and e-mailed. The call was dropped, but then I received a tracking number from UPS stating that the seller had provided the information as the package was ready and to be picked up. The tracking number was false as the items were not shipped.

The next day nothing. I called to cancel the order. The salesman told me I could not as the order was shipped earlier that day. I stated I would refuse shipment. 2 hours later I received a phone call asking if I still wanted the items as they had not shipped yet.

Due to time constraints and having lost a week dealing with these fools, I decided to take a chance and told them to ship. A different shipping number was then provided. The next day I had the merchandise. The merchandise was not defective this time so I kept it.

I will never use these fools again!!!

I placed on order for the Canon TX1. I placed the order based on the availibiy of the item as it showed in stock. Inventory magically went to back order once I placed the order and provided payment.

I called to cancel the order. The sales person was polite and provided the cancellation. He verified that several previously placed order also went to "back order".

One hour later the same salesman called back and stated they had a cancelled good order and asked if I still wanted the camera. I agreed and they shipped it immediately. Overall, the experience was good.

Very dissapointed. They had the Motorola DCP501 at a great price and only $5 for shipping. The receiver was listed as being brand new. Shipping was delayed for a few days, but I could live with that. What I could not live with was that the unit was used. Well used is not a fair description. Heavily used and broken better describes it. The box had a note written on it stating that the DVD player was defective. Inside the box I noticed that the display was scratched, the receiver case was damaged, dented, scratched, etc. On the top of the receiver was a note once again stating that the DVD player was broken. The note was written on the previous owners personal stationary. Tried it anyway. Guess what, DVD player did not work!!!! I contacted Woot, actually 4 times over the next 5 days. Finally received a rude reply stating that the unit had to be dropped off at FEDEX for a free return. No exchange was available, refund would be given 2 weeks later. I don't know if I'll buy from them again since they either lie or don't know what they are selling, and their customer support does not exist.

Ordered a pair of shoes during the third week of January. A week later they showed up, but were the wrong size. E-mailed footlocker and explained the problem. Footlocker explained that even though it was their mistake, I had to return the shoes at my expense. Did that. Received an e-mail stating that footlocker received the shoes, and that the replacement pair was in stock, and that they would be shipped within 24 hours. Waited another week, nothing. E-mailed footlocker asking what happened. They responded that my order had been cancelled due to the fact that they never stocked the shoes I wanted. In addition, I would only be getting a partial refund, which would take two months to appear. Footlocker wanted me to pay $20 for their mistake. I don't think so, now the CC charge has been disputed so I'm only out my return shipping charges. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

They have a large E-Bay presence and perform up to their claims. Pricies are very good. Shipping is very fast. Customer service, if you need them, are always polite.

A year ago I would have given Thai Gems rave reviews. But now it's a year later and they have changed tremendously. The past three orders were nothing but problems. Their live support is just a waste of time. Bait and switch have become common place. Late shipping, by over a month, has become typical. Don't expect an honest answer from customer support, which are always late anyway. If you do decide to buy anything from them, use Paypal. At least that way you can get your money back.

Looking for a new Canon G3 I discovered that 17th Street Photo had the best walk in price for the NYC area. I had a little trouble finding the store since there were n signs outside of the building. Once inside it was easy to find, and that's when I was very pleasantly surprised. I was helped immediately. The salesman seemed to know everything about the G3, had a brand new pulled from stock (2 minute wait) and asked if I needed accessories, extended warentees, etc. When I stated I had no interest, no more was mentioned on the subject. The sale completion was very quick and everyone was polite. I was in and out in about 10 minutes total. I will be using them again and again. Newt time I'll try their mail order service and save on the sales tax.

Bought a Sekonic light meter from B&H via e-mail order. It arrived a few days later as promised. The problem was the meter was used, in excellent condition, but used. In addition the Manual was missing. I called B&H and they stated that the item was new, and since it was working properly, it could not be exchanged. To the manual, B&H stated that "I must have lost it" and they did not have others to send out. Went to the manufacturer and between the price of the manual and the S/H it cost me about $20. Sent in the receipt to B&H and received no response. Later I learned that B&H is famous for selling customer returned items as new.

As a follow up: I contacted Henry on a subsequent problem product that was USED but sold as new. Henry admitted that B&H switched my first and last name in their data base. He corrected that problem.

My next purchase was for a Canon AC adaptor which was include 5 different power cords. the previous owner of this product had switch one of the power cords. The item was sold to me as new. Henry applogized for this "error" and it only cost me 2 hours of my time to resolve the matter and get a real new replacement.

Henry of B&H has several canned responses in which he first tries to deny that the complaint has come from a real B&H customer, then he attacks the customer themselves. If he really wants to resolve this matter he could have simply selected the contact button above, or jsut stop sell used equipment as new. Simple.

“First, I searched every customer in our database for the name "wynman," and then searched every transaction I then found. None includes a Sekonic meter. If this individual has a transaction #, I can be reached at henryp@bhphotovideo.com.

Second, the allegation that we sell anything in our new store which is not new is unsupportable. Any retailer with a return policy has to deal with returned items. Those in ABSOLUTELY as-new condition are reshelved, just as any other retailer would do. A returned item not in as-new condition is either returned to the customer, sent to our used department or sold as an open-box demo, depending on circumstances.

It's hard to believe but after the poor experience I had in purchasing a DELL Axim, I was stupid enough to try again and order a CANON A300 digital camera. Theior price was the best by far. After placing the order, I was sent an E-mail confirming my order, then given a "build" date on this Canon product for over a month past my order date, then there was anoth 5 to 7 days for shipping!!!! Eryone else had the same item in stock for $20 more. Ever try to cancel an order from Dell? they make it almost impossible. Well I'm doing it then passing on the word to avoid this company like the plague. The reason they undersell sp many others is that they have no customer service or technical support on problematic items they sell.
