I order online all the time. I have for many, many years. I have my own business and order parts on a daily basis. I attempted (attempted) to place an order for a Cowon D2 MP3 Player from JetMall. I know how to do this, as I stated before. My information is always the same and I use the same card because this card is STRICTLY for online purchases and my Bank is aware of this fact. I generally transfer money from another account to my "online" account so as not to keep an excess in that account. Online purchasing can be risky, to say the least. At JetMall I filled in the forms exactly as I always do and clicked the "submit" button. NO GO! I received an error stating that my shipping and billing address had to match----they DID match. Their Site advised be to go back and try again. I went back, rechecked everything and then clicked "submit" again--NO GO! What is going on? By this time I was getting nervous. Their site said it would allow me to try three times. OK. I went back and double/triple/quadrouple checked. The only thing I could possibly change was adding a "period" after my middle initial--which I did, and clicked "submit" for the third time. NO GO! Same error message! NOW, I get a message stating that my account would be charged THREE times until things were cleared up! When I checked "My Account" at JetMall (which I was forced to open if I wanted to order), I found THREE DIFFERENT ORDER NUMBERS!! I emailed JetMall immediately and finally received a very short and terse response that it was my responsibility. I should call the 800 number on the back of my card. My Bank was astounded. They are now watching this closely to see what happens. I asked JetMall to cancel the three transaction immediately within 10 minutes after attempting to place ONE order. It is now THREE days later and they have done NOTHING. I have a consult with my Bank's Legal team on Monday.

For those who shop for computer parts online, I'm happy to say that there is a new player in town-ArcticMOD.com. I came across them when searching for a hard-to-find LCD product. When I visited their site, I was really impressed that they actually had the part! ArcticMOD is a new online store and in the process of building their invetory and client base-a very critical time. They are doing an excellent job to say the least. It takes time to get every single part into a database and listed on their site, so if you do not see what you need--just email them. Believe it or not, they will actually EMAIL YOU BACK! They are also open to new ideas and suggestions for products to carry and are very open to hearing your own ideas. I really like that! Like most tech people, I am used to just a small handfull of stores that I can rely on-ArcticMOD has joined that list. Believe me, the dollar amount of parts that I have ordered in the past 10 years is staggering. It is extremely important to me to have a trustworthy source. ArcticMODS may not have everything you need--YET, but give them time. Make sure to email them to see if what you can't find is simply not listed yet on their site. Their pricing is better than ANY of the normal sources I use. Their shipping is as fast as (sorry, but I have to drop a few names here) Newegg or frozencpu. Price is not always everything! Trust and honesty play a bigger role in my purchasing decisions and I get the distinct impression that their excellent service will remain that way----excellent. To sum things up, I have kicked off a supplier who I have used for many years (one of the two I mentioned above) and I have added ArcticMOD in their place. Give them a try--they're good people!

I recently ordered a Monster Lian-Li PC-343B cube case and many accessories from Performance-pcs. This can be a difficult process due to the many options available. I wanted to order the parts while they were in stock---even though I would not be at home for delivery for two weeks. There was no problem--Performance-pcs held the order and shipped in time for delivery one day after I returned home. There was one snafu, but the folks at performance-pcs (specifically Hank) have great communication and and did what was necessary to rectify the situation. This is MUCH more than I can say for Newegg or some of the others, and I've dealt with MANY online stores over the years! Pricing is better than both Newegg and Frozencpu. The product selection is good (and growing) and shipments are immediate. It's refreshing to find a company that realizes the food on their table comes from their customers---and treats their customer with respect. Mistakes happen because we are only human, but it's how we handle the mistakes that separate the men from the boys. So, I have put Performance-pcs in my TOP FIVE of preferred companies. Newegg is still one, so is frozencpu and zipzoomfly, but I will now check Performance-pcs first due to their pricing (which is only a part of the equation). My very first experience with Performance-pcs was top-notch and PROFESSIONAL. I run my own business and professionalism and respect are what I demand from my employees (or they won't work for me) and it's refreshing to find others that treat people as I do.

I recently ordered a Canon EF24-105mm IS USM L series lens worth $1199.00. With all the fraud on EBay and the Internet, I was very edgy. TWO days after I ordered, UPS arrived with the lens! The lens was 100% genuine Canon---no gray market or Hong Kong Charlie fake. Their Web site is laid out very well and items are easy to find. Their selection (for what I was looking for) is large and complete. Their staff is VERY professional. All-in-all, I couldn't be happier! I will most definately order from Sigma4Less.com again, and I have no qualms reccommending them to anyone. A very smooth and secure transaction you can trust. Also, follow-up emails to keep me updated on my order progress. The UPS tracking number was emailed as soon as they had it which was the same day I placed the order!

WOW! I ordered a Canon EOS 30D and received an email asking me to call about my order. I know I was in trouble then! "Why didn't you order a battery"?--The service person asked. No battery? "Do you know the difference between a Japanese and a Chinese EOS 30D"?--The service person asked. Enough already---CANCEL MY ORDER! Their Website states NOTHING about the camera being from China---they just want to get you to call them for VERY expensive upgrades ---- or----Bait and Switch. If all consumers checked out ResellerRatings.com, USA Photo Nation would be closed in a day.

You be the judge (I'll be getting a real judge over this one). I placed an order for Dragon Naturally Speaking on a Saturday. I immediately found the software for $100.00 less (2 rebates) at Amazon. It was not even an hour after I placed the order that I sent TWO emails canceling. I also found out from my bank that the order was billed immediately. On Monday I called them to verbaly cancel and could not believe their rudeness! They still shipped the order on Monday (but did not tell me that). Now I have their CANCELED software and the same thing coming in from Amazon. I have sent more emails and they WILL NOT respond! We all have a legal right to cancel an order and I can see that I am going to have to exercise that right. By no response or communication, they are blatenly refusing an RMA---in other words---they are stealing my money. I have many more emails to write to various people and groups about this. The first to their State's Attorney General's office and then to various Internet consumer fraud agencys. Anyone ordering from 2BuyStore.com be warned. Just look at their ratings!

I check SVC's site frequently because they usually stock a few items that other sites don't carry, such as the 4 LED projectors. I have had no problems in the past and on this order, even though there was one minor glitch, SVC made good on it immediately. Their customer service is top-notch which, unfortunately, I can not say about some others. SVC is one of the three sites I use exclusively and have been for the past year or so. Trust is a big factor in my book!

I'm 54 years old and have been in business for 38 years. You be the judge--At step two of three steps in the ordering process, I realized I had forgotten to order an item. I did not enter step three and went BACK to add the item to the order. The first order went through anyway and I NEVER received an acknowledgement by email that the order was accepted or shipped---nothing! Both orders arrived in the exact same size box measuring 7"x10"x23/8". One weighed 2.5Oz and the other 1.4Oz. Both were shipped 3rd day select from the exact same location. UPS has a minimum 1LB charge. Both boxes were WELL UNDER 1LB! I was charged $11.98 for one box and $24.56 for the other!!!! Directron says they don't know why the first order went through. They will credit me for the items (which I would have to pay to send back) but NOT for the freight-----for an order I never placed! I am going to make formal complaints at various places (including their States Attorney General's office) concerning price gouging. I am going to UPS today, with the boxes to find out EXACTLY what the charges should be. A responsible company would admit they made a mistake and make good on it. Very simple and the honest thing to do. My last email asking Directron about the shipping price difference fell on deaf ears. They have choosen to ignor my email and not respond. I have many emails to write about this (what I consider to be illegal) situation, but no more emails to Directron. I will never do business with them again. UPDATE 02/25/2003----UPS advised me that each individual box should have been billed at $6.00 + change each. Considering there may be a charge for handling I have calculated that to take five gaskets off a shelf and put them in a box cost me approx. $18.00 on one order and $6.00 on the other. I'm not telling you NOT to buy from Directron---my previous purchases went very well, just beware. UPDATE-2/28/2003---I have heard nothing from Directron. I also found other orders where I was SEVERELY overcharged on the freight. My advise is for everyone (whether satisfied or not) to go over their past orders and check their freight charges. My last discovery-- 15 3-pin gender changer pigtails weighing less then 5OZ---$19.48 shipping. Should be $6.00 plus change. By the way, on my invoice it states this is a "shipping" charge. It does not say "shipping and handling". BEWARE!

I build computers and I have been ordering parts for a long time. I now do almost all my ordering from three companies----Xoxide being one them. Their pricing is very competitive although price is NOT always the "sell-all". Service, communication and trust are all a part of Xoxide's business plan and it shows every time I place an order. It's really very simple-once you get burned a few times, you (should) learn to stick with the companies who take their business seriously. Xoxide is a good bet for those people worried about who to trust.

I received a CD-RW that was defective. Even though Multiwave did not cause the product to be defective, it still required action by customer service. I notified cust. ser. of the problem and the NEXT DAY I received a working replacement!
