I ordered two Garmin Nuvi 880 GPS' from TechonDIGITAL as they had the best price $399 each when everyone else was selling it for $550 and up. I should have known that it was too good to be true.
After receiving the confirmation email, I quickly received an email asking me to contact "William" at extension 205 to confirm my order. William proceeded to verify some information and then tell me that I will need to order a Class 6 SD card for the unit. I told him that I have plenty of the SD cards around for my photography work. He insited that I needed a "special" unit. I told him, "No thank you." He then said that, although the normal price for this card was $200, he'd sell me one "below his cost" for $149. I asked him why in the world they would lose money to do that. His answer? "Because we would want you to have it." I told him no, I'll do OK without it and he said that I wouldn't be able to get any maps or upgrades without it. He said it was necessary. He was pushing hard.
After I held to my desire for only the units, he abruptly said "Enjoy your GPS." and hung up the phone. The next day I received an email saying that they were out of stock on the units and are, therefore, cancelling the order.
SCAM!!! I purchased the units from another source. The card is a convenience, not needed, and they don't even have to be Class 6 cards.
Stay away from these folks!
