“eBay Buyer Protection is a joke. I just spent an hour on the phone with Diana from Utah (Desk # 5.2.280) who let me describe my problem blow-by-blow only to tell me that she couldn't do anything about it. When I asked her why she didn't just say so in the first place, just started reading off eBay policy - thanks, that's helpful.

She basically made a poor buying experience (horrendous seller) even worse due to inflexibility and rudeness. I'll never buy from eBay again.”

“After ordering a laptop from Tiger Direct/Circuit City, I received it in huge box without any shipping material. The laptop malfunctioned and I called to have it replaced.

Customer service was a nightmare. I got a representative who tried to upsell me. I asked for the manager and he put me on hold for 20 mins. I called again and got a manager named Frank who did the same thing. He said the laptop I purchased was sold out and I would have to buy the next model up. Finally, we worked it out where I would buy the more expensive model but he would give me $20 credit for all the trouble.

I have now called Frank more than 3 times. Each time, he is either "away on break" or relays a message via another representative promising to take care of it the next day.

BEWARE TIGERDIRECT/CIRCUIT CITY - do not buy expensive electronics from them. IT WILL BE POORLY PACKAGED. Spend the extra $20 and get peace-of-mind with Newegg or Amazon.

Update: I was contacted by a customer relations representative and they were very polite. I explained to them the situation and although it cannot be undone, I was satisfied with their response.”

“I ordered a product and was charged for more than the advertised cost. I called customer service and was told that since I selected "In-store Pickup", I should ask for a refund from the store.

I then went to the store, spoke to both the cashier and manager, and was told that they couldn't give me a refund because it was an online order.

I've since called customer service AND written them an email. Both resulted in promises of a CS manager call-back to resolve the situation within 24-48 hrs. Four days later, I have not received a call-back and I'm seriously regretting ever purchasing from Sears.

In today's marketplace of Walmart/Amazon price wars, Sears has been an extremely disappointing experience.

I guess the only thing I can do is spend another hour on the phone waiting for customer service, cancel the order, and wait two billing cycles until my refund shows up. ”

“Watch out! Computer brain will put up seemingly great deals to get you to register an account and then promptly cancel your order.

Don't give them your information and credit card info. I tried and cannot delete my account! DO NOT SHOP HERE!”
