I tried to order a New Iomega Zip Drive on the letterfolders.com website through paypal. The order wouldn’t go through. Called letterfolders and was told that they no longer do business with paypal. The paypal option is still up but will be taken down. I then inquired if the Drive was new and was assured that it was. I was then given the option of using a credit card over the phone or I could place the order through their website. I asked if the shipping was free as the website advertised and was told that I would have to pay shipping charges. I went ahead and ordered the drive, after a week I had not received the drive although my credit card had been charged. I called and was told the package would be sent and I would be e-mailed a tracking number. 15 days after I placed the order I received it on a Friday with no communication of a tracking number. The package I received contained a used drive and usb cable. The plain cardboard box contained none of the accessories, manuals, warranty documentation that was listed on the website. The drive powered up alright on my computer but would not eject the disk. I tried calling Friday late afternoon no one was answering their phones. I then e-mailed my dilemma to their customer service e-mail address. MAILER DAEMON returned my e-mail after 3 hours stating that the Account is temporarily unavailable, to try again later. Made 2 more attempts over the weekend with same results. So much for OPEN 24/7. Monday I called, explained my problem and asked for an RMA number and pick-up of the package per their return policy of paying return postage if the wrong item is shipped. I was assured that I would be e-mailed an RMA number and would be receiving an e-mail from UPS with the label and pickup arrangements. 3 days go by, I call again and was assured all is well, and is almost approved. 4 days later I get an e-mail with the RMA number. I call again as I haven’t heard from UPS, and I’m informed that I am responsible for the return postage and may or may not be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Now I do the Google search of the company I should have done prior to ordering and find all of the complaints that have been filed against Letterfolders for deceptive sales practices, merchandise switching, mail returns that have been lost, additional charges being made up. I shall be contacting the BBB and adding my complaint to the many that have been filed. How this company stays in business is beyond me, the absolute worst business transaction I have encountered on the internet. 20/20 hindsite, I’ve learned a lesson.
