Test case i will be updating this

were to begin. well at overstockdealz there are deals to be had i got a OEM HP #56 ink cartridge (factory sealed) for $10 shipped even the cheap knock offs cost more then that so i was happy to start with

then i had my friend order for the 2 of us and he is not happy

we ordered

WDG1U5000NR WESTERN DIGITAL MyBook Essential Edition External 500GB External HDD 1 x $99.00 (Like New, in Original Packaging)

R01E160R MAXTOR 160GB OneTouch III External Mini Portable USB Hard Drive HDD 1 x $69.00

he ordered the WD My Book 500gb USB Hard Drive (2nd on this list)

and when he tested that drive he saw that it powers on but Windows can not see the HD so he looked at it more closely and saw that there is no HD inside it at all you can see light from the top cooling vents to the bottom ones where the HD is supposd to be and the USB HD box weights ounces not pounds
this is from a product that is Condition: Like New, in Original Packaging.
(BTW the other drives from this order look ok but i will be checking them some more)

like i said this is a good test case i have read lots of good reviews and lots of bad ones, but what scares me is that the bad ones are really bad i think even criminal (like one reviewer who said they charged him their standard restocking fee for an approved RMA that was defective besides the cost of shipping it back himself that is against their own Return Policies and Procedure and the list of bad ones go on

but like i said we will see
i plan on updating this post as i will be contacting them after the weekend

my friend just received an email and they will handle the RMA competently which leaves me happy but wary of their quality control (its hard to miss the difference in weight of an item like this without its hard drive)

Wow i am so glad i found this store. they have amazing prices (much better then ebay) and great service 3 emails for my order.
