Thing Fling
Rating 10/10 5/5
modified review posted Dec-22-2010

Over the past year I've made quite a few purchases from Thing Fling and have received the same fantastic service from them on each transaction. Thing Fling has continually provided me with speedy shipping of well packaged items.

On top of the excellent service that I've always received from Thing Fling, the one thing that really matters the most and keeps me coming back is their low prices on quality goods.

For instance on my last order I purchased some Walnut Hollow Metal Kits for $3.99 each. They normally sell for $19.99 at the Walnut Hollow website and at other sites that actually had them in stock. Now that's a darned nice price for some very good merchandise!

One other thing that I should mention, shipping costs. They have a straight $6.00 shipping fee per order, no matter how many items that you buy! That is when you actually have to pay for shipping, they give away free shipping on every third order. You can also get free shipping in other inventive ways on the site.

All things considered, Thing Fling is a site that I recommend to all. Go there and have a look around, if they don't have something that you like today, check back on another day because their inventory changes often.

Have phun!

Here we have yet another merchant selling a minimal number of items at what appear to be good prices--AKA a deal of the day type site.

I imagine that I will shop there again because they did have some decent prices on the items that they were selling the day I visited.

The next time I will be very careful though before I hit the BUY buttom because their return policy is extremely bad. If the item is cheap and you won't care if you can't return it, no big deal, shop away. I will never buy anything from them that is expensive due to their return policy but for cheap stuff, why not!

Their shipping was very fast but their packaging was horrible. I will not buy anything that could possibly be damaged in shipping because they put my items' retail box into a flimsy, plastic envelope that had absolutely no padding. The retail box was damaged beyond the point of being able to give the item as a gift but the item itself was fine.

Check 'em out, read their policies closely and consider those policies when considering a purchase. Keep in mind that they don't spend much on packaging materials so gift giving would not be advised.

Tanga
Rating 10/10 5/5
modified review posted Aug-02-2010

I am proud to be called a Tanganite, I guess! That's what this wonderful website refers to its customers as and believe me, I've been called worse!

Tanga.com is similar to a deal a day type sites with some extras. First off they have multiple categories so each day there are a number of items on sale. It breaks down like this, one item for each of the following categories:

Tanga Deal (This is the main deal);
Magazines;
T-Shirts;
Games & Toys;
Accessories;
Good-Till-Gone;
Second Chance

So it's kind of like woot but Tanga is supercharged! (IMHO Tangas' deals tend to be a lot better than woots.)

I particularly like the Magazine deals that I've found on Tanga. They don't have the run of the mill boring deals that everyone else has but rather they have magazines that I still like to read because they're not polluted to the brim with advertising.

If you're like me and enjoy great bargains then head on over to Tanga and become a Tanganite! It may surprise you to see what they have to offer today, tomorrow, the day after that, etc..

What a wonderful experience! Sunshine Discount Crafts has been in business for 30 years and in that time they have perfected all aspects of the craft supplies sales business.

This is one of those stores that I wonder and wish that I would have found earlier. In fact, I really wonder how it took me so long to find them because they offer very competitive prices, some of them unbelievably low prices, on a wide variety of crafting items, wonderfully polite, friendly and knowledgeable customer service representatives and very fast, well packaged shipments.

I give Sunshine (Discount) Crafts the highest accolades and ratings in all aspects of the deal that I can. This is one Internet store that is not to be missed. If you are into crafting then you will be a very happy camper once you pitch your tent at http://www.sunshinecrafts.com/ !!!

Stamp A Mania

modified review posted Jun-07-2010

Stamp A Mania provided me with the best service that I have seen in a very long time!

I placed an order for 49 items on a Monday and on that Thursday the order arrived! Three days from placing the order to it being at my house was unreal in a very cool way! They shipped using Priority Mail and since my order was for more than $100.00, the shipping was free! Prior to the sale, their support department answered my questions very quickly and professionally.

I am very happy that I found this retailer! Their selection of stamping, scrapbooking and other arts and crafts items is vast. Their prices are so very low that I kick myself for not finding them sooner! Their customer service is excellent because they are very fast, friendly, well informed and professional.

I give this retailer my highest praise possible, 10 out of 10 easy! I like everything about this company, indeed the Internet needs more shops like this!

Short story, avoid shopping there at all costs.

Gayle Murdo, the owner of this store is a downright unpleasant woman. She seems to run the business on her own and she is not a person that should be doing this because she simply doesn't seem to have the capacity (to run a small business).

My order came incomplete. I was given a partial refund for some out of stock items. Other out of stock items were marked as such on the packing list but there was no refund given. Was this an intentional attempt to take my money without providing the product (fraud)? I don't know. Probably not. I tend to believe in the reduced capacity theory.

It took TWO FULL MONTHS of pestering Gayle to finally get what I had coming-not the original items that I had ordered but fair replacements--considering the time that I had to invest the fair replacements comment is probably too generous. Many emails went unanswered. Many excuses came and went. Vendors lied to her. Vendors delivery promises fell through. Buildings burned down. The products will be in next week. I misplaced that, sorry. Excuses, oh so many excuses. Anything but to admit that she didn't know what the heck she was doing. Pathetically sad really.

Bottom line is that I would never shop there again. I would never recommend that any of my family or friends shop there. And last but not least, I would not recommend that you, the person reading this, shop there.

JetPens
Rating 10/10 5/5
modified review posted Mar-26-2010

I love this company! I've placed two or three orders with them so far and plan to be placing more. I especially like the Puffy Pens whose ink puffs up after you heat it with a heat tool (or a hair dryer)--these pens are from Korea and other than in Korea, I've never seen them anywhere but at JetPens.com--a real must for any paper crafter or scrapbooker.

JetPens.com carries a broad line of ink pens, pencils, water brushes, pencil holders and many other stationary related things mainly from Japan and some things from Korea too. Things that are easy to get IF YOU HAPPEN TO LIVE IN JAPAN but (were) nearly impossible to get if you lived outside of Japan. Jetpens.com bridges the gap between Japan and the rest of the world bringing wonderful writing items to the masses. I don't know why Japan (and Korea) have such cool writing utensils that haven't busted into the worlds markets sooner.

They are a friendly bunch that is very willing to answer questions (quickly) and they do take the requests that they get seriously.

MisterArt

modified review posted Mar-05-2010

I've shopped at MisterArt.com a total of three times over the past year spending a total of $769.74. All three of the orders arrived well packaged and very quickly. Two of the three orders were perfect, exactly what I ordered. Only the most recent order was there any issues and that issue is so minor but does need to be fixed.

My most recent order was for 135 items, 110 different products with 135 items all together due to duplicates. I was pleased to find that nearly the entire order was correct BUT one $0.73 plastic bottle was missing its spout and the cap that goes on the spout--I ordered eight of this particular item and the other seven came with the spouts and caps in place. I would think that the person packing the order would've noticed the missing spout and cap but they're human so things do happen. I sent an email to what I thought was their customer service email but since I got no answer (something they're normally very fast at) I copied and pasted the email into the web form on their actual site. I am confident that they will make things right because they really are good and quick at what they do.

So other than the missing pieces, the order was perfect. Considering how many unique items there were in the order, a great feat!

I would not hesitate to recommend MisterArt to family, friends and fellow resellerrating readers.

I will update this review when the missing pieces problem is resolved.

Very early this morning I received a reply to my original email and they are going to be sending a new $0.73 bottle to replace the missing pieces on the other one.

This is the kind of very fast service and fine customer service that makes buying from MisterArt a pleasure. I'll be renewing my VIP Membership with them straight away. BTW the VIP Membership is only $25.00 a year and it is well worth the price because it reduces their already low prices to the lowest price that your going to find for almost any of the artist supplies that they sell.

Last year I used PayPal a total of 614 times to pay mainly for eBay auctions but for approximately three dozen other online purchases as well. Out of all of those purchases, I had a total of ZERO problems that could be attributed to PayPal! I find that nothing short of completely impressive! I will continue to use PayPal for every online purchase that I make far into the future because if something ain't broke...

At this point my transaction with this retailer is not yet completed.

FROM WHAT I'VE HAD TO DEAL WITH AS OF NOW, THIS COMPANY HAS ONE OF THE WORST CHECKOUT SYSTEMS THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE TO GET INVOLVED WITH. THEIR SYSTEM TAKES FOREVER TO GET THROUGH ASKING FOR INFORMATION LIKE ITEM NUMBERS TO PROCEED (WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU KNEW AN ITEM NUMBER OF A PRODUCT YOU WERE BUYING??? - PLEASE!) AND THEN TOWARDS THE END OF THE LENGTHY ENDEAVOR THEIR TERRIBLE CHECK OUT SYSTEM FAILS BY TIMING OUT, THREE TIMES IN MY EXPERIENCE. SOMETIMES A DISCOUNTED PRICE JUST ISN'T WORTH THE SHENANIGANS THAT THESE FLY BY NIGHT COMPANIES PUT YOU THROUGH.

Update(s) will be coming as progress/digress is made and again upon completion of the order.

January 22, 2010 UPDATE:

I find the Seller Review of 1/19/10 9:02AM about me having the wrong ID a real hoot!--THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT WITH THIS COMPANY, THAT NUMBER IS THE NUMBER THAT THEIR SYSTEM EXPECTED ME TO KNOW AND ENTER BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO PROGRESS IN THE CHECK OUT PROCESS. THEY APPARENTLY THINK I SHOULD KNOW THINGS THAT THEY CAN'T EVEN FIGURE OUT THEMSELVES--OH WELL. EIGHT DAYS LATER, STILL NO PACKAGE. THEIR LIVING UP TO THEIR RATING SO FAR I GUESS.

@COMMENTER: The number I provided is correct, check your records a little harder. "Lifestyled 3 Pack of Flashlights with 9 LED Bulbs" ring a bell...

January 22, 2010 UPDATE #2:

Shortly after I left the review earlier today my postman came by and dropped off the package from this company.

So in the end I have my items eight days after ordering them, that's a perfectly acceptable time frame in my opinion. All three of the flashlights work and for the price I paid, that is a welcome surprise. Customer service did try to contact me even if they don't seem to completely understand their own check out system which isn't hard to understand, it's a mess--in fact the checkout system is the absolute worst thing that I experienced when dealing with this company. What should have taken five minutes to check out ended up crashing time and time again after I figured out that long item number that they expected me to enter into their system. By the time I was finally finished checking out it was at least thirty minutes later, why did I bother? I guess it was partially because they had my contact information and I had promised to make the purchase. Who knows perhaps I was on a mission to beat the POS checkout system that they had so that I would feel like I conquered something?

Would I shop with them again? Maybe, but I would have to know that their checkout system was fixed or perhaps I could place a phone order. I don't think that it will happen to be honest it's just too much of an investment of my time. Would I recommend them to friends or family? Absolutely not. Would I recommend them to total strangers? Sure, if you're the type of person that has a lot of time on their hands and doesn't mind fighting with checkout systems that are prone to crashes and that just hang and hang and hang making you wonder if your credit card has been charged or not--sure I would recommend this company to that person.
