I ordered a part from boatfix.com and they immediately charged my account. I only received an email of the order confirmation. I called a week after no shipping info. I had to leave a voice mail. They Called back the next day and said the part was superseded buy another part number over $95 more. This is after they already charged me. I never received an email or call to tell me this. When they returned my call, I told them to go ahead with the new part. The part has still not shipped. I only get info if I call. I called again today 7/20/10 and they said they will call me back. If you need a part to get your boat up and running like me, look elsewhere.
Boatfix again returned my call today 7/20/10. customer service feels my review is dishonest because they say they contacted me the next day via email. However I can find no email in spam/Trash folders from boatfix. I only have responses to my email/phone inquiries.

Hi John,
We have gone ahead and processed the additional charge today, in the amount of $96.12 to the same card on file for this order, now that the item is available at Mercury to special order. As agreed upon, the superseded item offered is a direct replacement according to the information supplied to us by Mercury, and as a special order it will be non-returnable once shipped from Mercury's warehouse. The original backorder for the item as a stocked part will go to our inventory, rather than ship to you. Your special order will be entered first thing tomorrow with Mercury, and typically should arrive about 3 business days after, which would be Monday of this upcoming week, assuming Mercury processes the order without any delay as normal.
We would appreciate if you would completely retract your reseller ratings review as their are dishonest statements, and inaccuracies. We would like to stress how important these reviews are to our company, and how detrimental they can be for future business. We have contacted you a day after your order, and again to inform you of the additional delay due to availability on the newly superseded part, providing an estimated ship date of 7/21 which turned out to be quite accurate.
