After much internal debate and much price comparison, I purchased a Canon Vixia from 6th Ave electronics. They had a "name your Price" event in which they countered my bid with one of theirs. It was about 50 dollars less than the best (reputable) price I could find, so I went for it.

Ordering, Shipping, Confirmation, etc. were all perfect transactions. I am now happily using my camera.
A perfect transaction.

Ordered a camera battery from them. They had a very low price and the battery arrived quickly with no trouble. Always a bit concerned by purchasing camera items from a company I'm not familiar with, but this proved not to be an issue with this company. NO PROBLEM

I ordered Tiffen Filters from Tristate. The prices were good, the order was immediately fulfilled and the filters arrived very quickly. I have NO COMPLAINTS. I admit I was a bit concerned by the "Brooklyn camera shop" thing, but they were fine.

You go to their website. Everything is easy to find.
You order it... a very good price.

I purchased a big ticket item through this company after much research. I was concerned about a rebate as it was only valid from authorized dealers.

The item, (an HD projector) arrived in perfect condition, speedy deliver, well tracked.
I was also very pleased that I had no issues with the rebate.

This was a perfect transaction and a great price. They should all be so good.

STAY AWAY - THEY USE BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS.

About ten minutes after I wrote this review, I received a call from New World Video Direct's "Legal Department" implying that they would file a defamation suit if I used the word scam in this review. So... I'm amending the word to "tactic". Evidently, they're not as offended by the expression "bait and switch" (which is generally considered fraudulent, by the way)

My opinion of this company remains unchanged. Of course it is only my opinion, based on my experience.

I am good about researching a company's rep online before buying and these guys had a decent enough rating, based on some reviews. I thought that perhaps the bad reviews were just bitter people. NOPE.

After I placed my order for a very standard lens, I grew more concerned reading the negative reviews. One blog specifically showed a detailed trail of deception; not an ignorant, bitter customer.

AS I WAS READING about their bait and switch tactics, who calls? --- a caller from Brooklyn, NY!!! Sure enough, they were "back ordered" but had another lens that was "even better" that they could sell me. You couldn't put this in a movie... The timing couldn't have been better. haha.
Needless to say, I immediately canceled the order. Luckily, my credit card hadn't yet been charged. I went elsewhere and quickly had the order fulfilled.

It's darn amazing how often NWV DIRECT seem to be "back ordered" but ready and able to sell you something else. I just wonder how it wouldn't be easier and more profitable for them to be honest rather than lowly bait and switchers?

They could have had my business as well as future business.

Bottom line: STAY AWAY FROM NEW WORLD VIDEO DIRECT NWVDIRECT.COM!

Newegg rocks.

I have had only the greatest of experiences with this company. They truly are the model that other companies should follow.

I have ordered numerous computer parts as well as ink cartridges, etc. All have arrived quickly and as they should. I also haven't been able to find bettter prices overall for most parts.

GO NEWEGG!!!

If this company was ever good, it is not now. I ordered a brother toner cartridge on Feb 20th. They had no problem in taking my paypal payment. Feb 26th, they said the order was being "sent to their warehouse for processing".
As of March 18th, nothing. I have emailed them several times and never gotten a return response. Calls are to a voicemail system that is full (one can't leave a message)
I started a claim with Paypay -- which immediately escalated it because they got no response from this "company".

They are either a scam or they are defunct but still taking money -- which makes them a scam.

DON'T BUY FROM THEM
