Placed an order for 4 t-shirts during their 75 percent off clearance that ran through 1-3-10.

Never got my order and since I was away from the computer for several days, found that even though I got an "order received" notice as well as a notice from paypal stating that this transaction went through, I still got nothing.

2 days later, hot topic sent me an email stating that order never went through, to please try again (Since I was away from my computer, I didn't find out until today 1-14-10).

After waiting on their customer service line for 15 minutes or so, I finally spoke to someone that told me that all of this happened because of paypal, not because of their site. They did offer to do the order over again (without paypal), but at this point I was frustrated and simply just told them to remove any attempted charges (listed as pending on my Paypal), because I just didn't want to deal with them any longer. Too much red tape, for 4 shirts.

Not recommended, unless they one day get their transaction processing in order.

Hello everyone,

Until recently, I had very much enjoyed placing purchases with this online retailer (they make an awesome product), but after much frustration in trying to place an order for some SD cards, I have to say that I'm just not pleased. Here is an example of what I would get after putting in (on several minutes and hours apart attempts):

>>The transaction resulted in an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder.

>>Street Address: No Match -- First 5 Digits of Zip: Match

>>CVV2 Code Match

What I was told was that there were new security measures in place in order to make sure that the billing address I'm entering is the same as the bank. Apparently "case sensitive" is the key.

Well, after checking my banking statements, talking to Kingston's customer service (around 3 or 4 times as well as an email) and my bank's.

I was told (albeit nicely) on both sides that it's the other side's "problem".

Since this time, I have placed a few orders with other online retailers (in the past 24 hours since this all started) and have had no problems with my orders going through.

The only constant I kept hearing from Kingston is "we implemented new security measures to protect against fraud". For which I totally understand.

But when you have checked and checked that you're properly putting in the proper info, yet you still see the same results. It makes it even much more frustrating. Especially when they don't seem to offer any solutions in order to help you.
