Steer clear of these guys. I've been a long time customer of Tennis Warehouse, ordering hundreds of dollars of rackets and strings in the past. That is until today. The tracking information for the new racket I had overnight-ed showed a front door delivery at a time when my wife and I were both at home, but alas no racket was delivered. When I contacted TW's customer service about the issue, they insisted that I order and pay for a second racket and if the first racket ever showed up, I would have to pay for return shipping on the first racket as well. I had been expecting that they would simply overnight another one, for the inconvenience. As I explained to them, if the original racket ever showed up I would be more than happy to return it. No dice. All this hassle and disrespect for a $69 tennis racket. Unbelievable. Instead of trusting a long time customer, they've lost one. There are too many other good options out there for my tennis needs.

Disappointing at best. After seeing Zappos highlighted on the TV show, The Apprentice, I thought I would give them a try. Despite their website, which lacks visual appeal and is quite dense with information, their selection of shoes is OK. They lost a sale, however, when they did not have a size I needed, so instead of buying two pairs, I only purchased a pair of $200 Cole Haan Oxfords.

An hour after I made my purchase, as I was attempting to see the status of my order, I noticed that the $200 price of these shoes had now dropped to a sale price $137. When I sent an email highlighting this fact to their customer service, I was told that they would not honor the reduction in price because they do not follow "industry standards" for price matching on different colors of the same shoe. I find this confusing at best and dishonest at worst. What retailer offers different prices on different colors of the SAME exact model shoe?

Now I know one.

Today, Zappos had the chance to earn a new customer who loves shoes. They blew it. I will return the shoes I ordered, at their expense, and hope that they quickly adopt a better business sense. They tout their "amazing customer service and unique shopping experience". I can certainly attest to the latter...it was a "unique experience" and one that I will not repeat with them. Especially when they are so many other choices. I wonder what Donald would say?

What a great experience! I purchased a Panasonic DVX 100B from Proview Digital in Septmeber 2006. Proview may have the best communciation and customer service on the Web. I sent Stuart no fewer than 12 emails with questions over a period of several weeks. He responded very quickly and when I was finally ready to plunk down $3000+, they packed and shipped the same day! Triple boxed for protection and the camera qualified for a $350 rebate from panasonic. No grey market stuff here. Thanks Proview! Will certainly be back.
