I have been buying from BestByte for at least 7 years. They have always had affordable prices and offer dirt cheap, first class shipping, unlike most other on-line stores. My last order was just for a molex y-cable, where the shipping at a store like Newegg would have been more expensive than my entire order.

Awesome place for getting small items like PC fans, cables or adapters. They must survive on word-of-mouth, because I have never seen them on any price search engine, but I highly recommend them.

Normally I don't bother to write reviews anymore, but I ordered a few things from Koolertek and realized I forgot to add some LEDs. E-mailed them immediately about canceling or adding to the order and they got back to me within a day, saying to place a second order, they would ship everything together and comp the price of shipping. Most online stores nowadays would have blown off the e-mail and shipped the first order anyway. Others even have problems (*cough* FrozenCPU *cough* ) getting the first order put together right.

Within a few hours after placing the second order, they had shipped everything out and I received everything within 2 days! Thanks, Mr Clay! Top notch customer service - I would not hesitate ordering from these guys again.

Update: Recently ordered some fans and miscellaneous cooling parts. Forgot to include a grill for one of the fans and placed another order. Koolertek combined both orders, included a discount that I had on one of the orders all *without even asking!* Are they for real?! Definitely will be buying my cooling equipment from them in the future. They even offer blank credit cards for spreading TIM - how cool is that?

Extremely fast shipment of order. Shipped the day of ordering! Was the first to offer a particular motherboard and have heard good things about them from other people.

Fast delivery, great prices, good communication! Shipping was a bit much, but at least I was paying extra for FedEx. First time using TheNerds and I won't hesitate to use them in the future.

I ordered a Sound Sleeper through a baby registry from Toys 'R' Us on Monday for a baby shower on Friday. By Friday, it still had not shipped!

Order status still says Item(s) located in stock and according to their policies, I can't cancel it unless it is out of stock! Obviously it is not in stock or it would have shipped by now. Terribly inconvenient and a shady policy to have. They also have no way to contact them via e-mail!

Edit: My item did not ship until 7 business days after I ordered it (11/14). Ironically it only took one day to deliver.

However, I had no problems purchasing from their retail store. This seems to be a weird trend among brick & mortar stores - they can't seem to figure out how to be successful online! Loved the baby registry idea, though.

Very impressed with this store. I had a problem with a power supply and had to return it. Not only did the owner assist with my request to exchange it for the next model up, but on top of that he included the upgrade discount! In my experience, very few on-line stores are even willing to accommodate exchanges.

Edit: I ended up having a problem with the new power supply, through no fault of mini-box, however after over a month and multiple e-mails, mini-box still has not responded or sent a replacement.

Edit2: Contacted the owner directly and they refunded my money the next day.

True sob story: I ordered items two weeks before Christmas for my Mom. They were on backorder at every store, but EverythingHome was claiming it should be in by 12/15. Christmas rolls by and I am left almost empty handed for presents. I finally cancelled my order on Wednesday and receive a shipping confirmation on late Friday night! Looking at my upcoming credit card statement, on Tuesday (which posted Wednesday) they charged me for a partial shipment of the order + the full amount for shipping. I have e-mailed them for a refund/return shipping, but am disputing this with my credit card company, if they do not respond.

For the record, probably all of the positive reviews for this eTailer on PriceGrabber are bogus. I made the mistake of trusting their rating system, before researching on ResellerRatings.

Ordered an ESI Julia sound card from Westex Media via PayPal. Unfortunately, I noticed something immediately after buying that was not going to work for me, so I had to cancel.

E-mailed Westex Media and received a snappy-quick response/refund from Jeff! Although he did call me the wrong name... I thought only my girlfriend did that! Ouch.

Purchased a Mother's Claybar kit from AutoBarn. Order processed the second day, but the biggest issue I had was their choice of shipping options - slow.

No USPS Priority or FedEx Express Saver for fast, affordable delivery - just UPS Ground. With processing, order took a week to arrive from New York to Georgia. In contrast, an order I recently placed at another site cost half as much to ship, only took 3 days and came all the way from the other side of the country!

I would probably not shop here again until they get some better shipping options.

Ordered on Sunday and received on Wednesday from the other side of the country. Only ordered a fan, but came both bubble-wrapped and in a cardboard sheath! That's service!

Ordered a Swiftech MCX64-V backplate from them. Received a totally different backplate. I will give FrozenCPU the benefit of the doubt that their customer service is decent, but I am going to sell the more expensive backplate they sent me on eBay. Hopefully, enough of these little mistakes will be enough to convince them that they need to hirer more workers to increase the attention to their service. Little mistakes like this *should not happen.*

I would also like to mention that FrozenCPU has the practice of *blackmailing* people on resellerratings to get them to change their reviews. Had I known this in the first place, I would have paid a little extra and ordered directly from Swiftech. Here is a thread that legitimizes this:

The owner contacted me after posting this review was posted, saying "they don't blackmail people" and to enjoy the part they sent me. He may not like the harsh word, but it is the harsh truth.

In the thread above, the owner refused to refund a buyer's money until he changed his review on resellerratings! Blackmail. That alone should make you question the legitimacy of their ratings. In that thread, there is also a surprising number of delayed shipments and screwed up orders that show that they may have problems with their inventory control.

OAt least his e-mail was polite and a step in the right direction, but they have a ways to go to get on track.

eCost lists an ATI Radeon X800XT for sale with a "mid-September" shipping date. Firstly it is well past "mid-September" (20th) and they still have not shipped the card. More importantly they deceptively display a picture of an X800XT PE - a card that sells for over a hundred dollars more! This is nothing but a scam into getting you to loan them a few hundred dollars and at the end of waiting for X amount of weeks, you will either end up with a card that you did not order and have to pay a 15% restocking fee if you want to return it, or your order will be cancelled after weeks of waiting.

I have seen these "accidental" ads on high-ticket items happen time and time again, and the etailers hides behind their fine print, taking no liability for their "unintentional misprints" and screwing the innocent customer out of their hard-earned money. These thieves should be tried in court for their actions.

What's more, I notified eCost about this error over a week ago when I noticed what trickery they were trying to pull and cancelled both of my orders. They have totally ignored my comments and not changed the ad. Don't be sucked in by these scammers.

Bad customer service. Only positive is that they were very quick to respond... in giving me the runaround.

First the mfg # differed from the description they were giving. When asked which was correct, they replied:

"We apologize for any inconvenience. However, you can contact
the manufacturer directly for additional product and compatibility
information. We are happy to provide you with a link to the
manufacturer's
website and from there you can request additional information
for their products.

www.jatoncorp.com"

How does that tell me which product they are selling? It doesn't. I know I may be kicking a dead horse, but the mfg link they gave me was also wrong.

So I told them that was unacceptable and to cancel my order immediately. I would repurchase when they responded to my original question. They gave me this wonderfully helpful response:

"We really appreciate your feedback! We work hard to ensure success
and like to hear from our valued customers. We would like to
inform you that we have forwarded the issue to the concern department.
We hope the issue will be resolved soon."

They still have not responded to me yet, but I cancelled via another method on their web-site. However *after* updating their web-site to reflect the lower model number, they replied to another buyer with this:

"We would like to inform you that according to our records there
is an item " Jaton NVidia GeForce 6800 128DDR RGB/TV/DVI/AGP8X
- 3DFORCE6800" for the SKU#10374875.

We have also checked on the manufacturer's site. According to
that, the item is listed as "3DForce 6800 (New)" instead of
"Jaton Nvidia 6800 GT".

On my receipt it was still listed as "Jaton NVidia GeForce 6800 GT 256DDR RGB/TV/DVI/AGP8X
- 3DFORCE6800

Lastly, they went in and altered my on-line receipt.

False advertising, horrible CS and either bad internal company communication or a coverup to boot.

Don't buy from Buy.com.
