The best part of mixbook is how easy to use it is and extremely customizable. I loved that part. Unlike other photobook sites, you can make the layout any way you want-all pictures can be moved around and resized very easily. The book I created online looked amazing. I used very high resolution photos from my DSLR camera and the colors were crisp.
Yesterday I received the book in the mail and it was pretty terrible. The front page looks great-as does the back page (I ordered a square soft cover) Inside is a different story. First of all, 2 pages fell out by merely turning the page-several others are pulling out from the top or bottom of the binding. The pictures that I had spanning between two pages are not matched up-off by at least 1/8". The colors are dull and color variations in the green in particular are bad. You can see bubbles and streaks in large swathes of single colors (ie a landscape pic of a sunset over the ocean). The pictures are also not sharp, which I know is not a function of my image size or quality. Maybe this program is more meant for pictures of people at a smaller scale.
I have contacted their service department in hopes of at least getting a book with pages that aren't falling out, but I'm afraid the photo color and quality issue is one that they can't resolve. I wish they offered a higher quality paper at a higher price so I could at least have this book looking nicer. I will not use Mixbook again. After reading some other reviews, I have switched to using Blurb. A little less user friendly, but the print quality gets rave reviews.
