1/5

I placed an order on Feb. 26. When I noticed my order was still on hold on Mar. 1, I e-mailed the company's support (there is no phone support). I got a response on Mar. 3. It told me that one of the items I'd ordered was on two week backorder, hence the hold. The item's page on their website said "Normally ships within 2-3 business days."
They did offer to split the shipment at no extra cost, shipping the items that were in stock now and the backordered item later. Still, I would have preferred to know this immediately. I elected to split the shipment, and on Mar. 4 they said my order would be shipping that afternoon.
Later that day, I received an e-mail saying the items had shipped. Days passed. I checked the order status link provided in the e-mail, and noticed there was a way to track the order. I pushed the Track button, and it took me to UPS' website, but it said the shipment could not be located.
It appeared that the website was sending my order number to UPS as a tracking number, hence the failure. "No big deal," I thought. "I'll just e-mail them. So I e-mail them on Saturday, Mar. 8 and ask them to provide the UPS tracking number. As of the end of the day Tuesday, Mar. 11, I had not received any response, and still did not have my items. A full 14 days had passed since my original order, and 8 days since they claimed the items were shipped. I sent another e-mail asking for the tracking number, and expressed my concern.
Late afternoon on Wednesday, Mar. 12, I still had not received my items nor any sort of contact since the shipment notice 9 days prior.
At this point, I had enough. For three hours, I scoured domain name WHOIS records for any sort of address or phone or e-mail information I could find out about 4CompuElectron.com and it's affiates like CyberGiftCenter.com. I found several phone numbers, but one was faked and two others were disconnected. Address listings were a dead end as reverse searches by address turned up nothing that I could tell was a e-commerce company. So, I resorted to sending another e-mail to the company, this time demanding a refund and threatening the BBB, resellerratings.com, and bizrate.com on them. They responded in 2 hours saying that my order would be cancelled and there would be no charge to my credit card. As of today, Monday, Mar. 17, it does not appear they have charged my credit card.
I would never do business with them or an affiated site again. Steer clear! Horrendous customer service and either very slow shipping or this is a scam.
