Not happy with Amazon today:
1. SuperSaver penalty: Amazon offers SuperSaver shipping on orders over $25.00. Compared to 3-5 day delivery time for standard shipping, SuperSaver orders should arrive within 5-9 days. No so. I ordered a bike repair stand on July 6. With SuperSaver, the _shipping_ date would have been July 12, whereas for standard shipping the _delivery_ date would have been July 12. In other words, delivery of an in-stock item was going to take 11-17 days, not 5-9.
2. Problems changing an order: I decided to pay for shipping. To find out what the costs would be, I first changed the order to two day shipping. But then I couldn't change to Standard or cancel. Apparently when you click two day shipping, the order is immediately in "process" and can't be changed on the web. After some time exploring the Customer Service screens, I discovered a "Call Me Back" option, entered my phone number, and was called within five minutes (good!). Luckily the rep was able to change the order, but I was so fed up at that point that I told her to cancel it.
3. Rebate switch: I had applied for an Amazon Visa to get a $40.00 rebate on my next purchase. After a while, I decided to re-order the item. Imagine my surprise when the advertised rebate for using the new Visa card was $30.00, not $40.00. I logged out, deleted cookies, and the next time I logged in, the rebate was up to $40.00 again. Amazon's been caught before raising prices for people who looked at an item once, then came back to order later. This looks like more of the same.
