4/5

Factory seal had been broken and resealed, a "MAC" label had been removed from the factory container and the box was not even properly reclosed. The item was returned unopened.
I have no idea when I will ever receive a "new" laptop, as ordered. I've been told 1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks, and that it would ship today - which did not happen.
They have my money and my computer, and I have an expiring service contract.
Review update:
Newegg responded to this rating by providing a $100 credit and shipping the replacement computer, which I received a week later. They were apologetic and intent on my reconsideration of this rating.
I have not updated this sooner since I was waiting for a new service contract which reflected the serial number of the computer I now have. I received an e-mail validation of the contract yesterday.
Buying online requires an element of trust in people and companies with which one may have little intimate knowledge or experience. Flags are raised when the customer receives vague, conflicting or inaccurate information from company representatives on the other end of phone and/or online conversations who are probably in multiple locations.
