Hi, everyone!
You can check my prior reviews and see that I rarely give low ratings to companies because I'm generally very careful about who I shop with online and don't buy from companies that don't measure up, but if a company deserves a low rating that's just what they'll get.
My computer hardware orders from TigerDirect.com have gone pretty well although the prices weren't all that great, but at least they had the product that I wanted right then in stock. My beef with them is that they are truly prolific when it comes to SPAMMING their customers.
I've been trying for almost a month to unsubscribe from their deals alert newsletters by using the unsubscribe link found within each email, and in some cases I've unsubscribed using the link twice. It says in the newsletter that it can take up to 10 days for the process to be completed but this has been going on for almost a month now and I've unsubscribed over 24 times already.
When the relentless SPAM didn't stop, I contacted their live chat service and asked that my account be deleted and all the SPAM be halted immediately. They said they couldn't delete the account, but they would stop the SPAM, but it didn't stop. I then contacted TigerDirect by email and they replied saying the SPAM would be stopped, but it's still coming almost daily.
I've had it with them over this and don't intend to make any further purchases from TigerDirect unless they plan to pay me to shop there. Please understand that my review is based solely on my own experience with TigerDirect. Hopefully, this isn't happening to any of the rest of you, and if you don't want it to happen, I'd very highly recommend that you NOT subscribe to anything email oriented on their website.
Now I'm off to figure out how to block their SPAM, or to get a new email address if that's what it takes to stop this.
Good bye, TigerDirect!
EDIT (a few hours later): just wanted to say that another SPAM was delivered into my email inbox right after the above was posted and before I could block it!
EDIT (06-06-10): it appears that the SPAM emails might have stopped, although I did receive two more of them after posting this review. I got word that TigerDirect was also trying to reach me by phone, but I didn't want to talk anymore about it after so many attempts to stop it. Enough is enough, so this review won't be updated further unless the SPAM keeps coming, or TigerDirect jumps in here with some lame excuse. The bottom line is that the SPAM should have stopped on the very first attempt to unsubscribe.

“Bob,
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I tried to contact you via phone but your wife said you were unavailable. We are not sure why your multiple attempts at unsubscribing have not been successful and I have contact our IT department to review why your requests are not being processed.
I requested your email address specifically to be manually removed and you should NOT be receiving any more emails, if you are please contact me directly at ernie@help.tigerdirect.com so I may investigate further into this matter.
Our apologies,
Ernie E.
