I ordered a replacement battery from Laptops for Less after reading a favorable review of the company by a computer magazine. The battery I received was dead, wouldn't charge, and the computer reported it as defective. I contacted customer service by email and received a prompt reply with a return authorization number. However, Laptops for Less also promised to send an email with a link to a free return shipping label, but that email was never received. Customer service said "we sent it -- check your spam." Nope. I asked them to email again, they said they did, nothing. I called, got a customer service rep on the phone who said they sent it, nothing received. All the while I was receiving their other emails just fine. Googling the problem showed lots of customer complaints about never receiving this shipping label email. I invested the postage and mailed the bad battery back myself with tracking. They received the package on a Monday, and by Friday, their website still reported not receiving it. I wrote to customer service that I'd dispute this charge with PayPal if they didn't acknowledge the package within one day. They did. Two weeks later, I received a working battery in the mail.
