I placed this order on November 13 and I was notified that they shipped on November 14, which is good shipping time. I went to work at a remote location on November 15 and called my wife around Nov. 20 and the package had arrived with no problems. I got in from work on Nov. 29 and check my order and find that they had sent me 5-92mm case fans instead of the 5-80mm case fans that I had ordered. I notified them this morning (Nov. 30) and they sent a reply back stating for me to ship them the fans back at my expense and they would credit me for the shipping charges and send the correct fans to me. I don't see how they expect to pay my shipping charges as they won't be listed on the package and since they are the ones who screwed up, they should have emailed me a prepayed shipping label to me for shipping, instead of me having to fork out more money. Also they could have cross-shipped the fans instead of making me wait for them to receive the returned fans for them to ship the proper fans that I've already payed for. These fans aren't for an immediate project, but if they were, I'd be sh!t out of luck if I needed those fans in a hurry. Plus, I don't know how well I can trust this company to be honest about receiving the returned fans; it would be so easy for them to say that they never received them and screw me further. Frankly, their customer service and return policy sucks in my opinion. It's not like I ordered the wrong parts; they sent the wrong parts and now I have to go through all this and trust them to get it right and also reimburse my shipping expenses for their screwup. It will probably be a cold day in hell before I order from this company again. I will also post a followup on this return process; how long it takes and if they cover my shipping expenses. They have great prices but if they can't get your order right, then it isn't worth the hassle. I will stick to buying from more reputable people like Newegg, KD Computers or Sidewindercomputers from now on and give these folks a wide berth.
UPDATE: 12/11/02 @ 10:00 AM CST
I shipped the fans in question back to SVC on 12/04/2002 via USPS Priority Confirmed and the USPS website showed delivery on 12/06/2002 at 10:31 AM. I still have had no information as to whether they have shipped the correct fans back to me yet to complete my order that I've already payed for, or have I heard anything on the reimbursement of the $5.85 it cost me to send their screwup back. I will be going to work at a remote location for 2 weeks tonight, but if I've not received my correct fans by the time I get back in from work, I will be contacting the USPS about commencing mail fraud charges against them as they shipped via the USPS.
UPDATE: 12/26/02- I got in from 2 weeks at work today and the correct fans were finally shipped to me, but there was no reimbursment of my return shipping charges. I will not ever buy another thing from these asshats as they aren't worth the trouble to deal with!
UPDATE: 5/15/06 - Ordered 2 fans. Ordering was easy and shipping options were decent. Product was delivered fairly timely. However, one of the fans was defective, which isn't svcompucycle's fault. My problem is with their RMA policies, which can only be done online according to the rep I talked with on the phone. I also had problems getting in touch with them about the defective fan by calling the number on their invoice, with some kind of semi-porn sounding computer message coming up. After talking with the rep by phone, I then went to their website and filled out their RMA request page and submitted it. This was on a Friday in the middle of the day. I didn't get a RMA authorization until the following Monday, which is very slow compared to the vendors I normally use for most of my purchases (Newegg and Sidewinder Computers). I was also not offered a chance to have my replacement fan for the defective one cross-shipped either. This fan is intended for a time sensitive project, which has been delayed very much by their slow RMA process. I am still waiting for my replacement fan and have heard nothing from them updating me as to the status of my RMA. It has been right on a week since I sent the defective fan back for replacement via priority mail.
With service like this, I kind of doubt that I will purchase any more items from svcompucycle. I will also be updating my ratings on them at resellerratings too, as well as voicing my opinions of their poor service on the overclockers.com forums.
UPDATE:6/2/06 I got in from work today and the "supposedly replacement fan" had come in while I was at work on a drilling rig offshore and went to test the replacement fan. As I half expected, these ripoffs sent me the very same defective fan back to me that I had shipped back to them. They didn't even bother to test the fan out, but just shipped the same defective crap back to me and now I have a defective fan but they also got me for shipping this defective fan back to them with no replacement. This is a poor vendor to do business with, so stay away!
