This entire order has shyed me away from musicansfriend and I do not recommend anyone buy from them. I ordered on the 8th of July knowing that the guitar I wanted was backordered until the 15th. Closer to the 15th I get an email saying that it wouldn't be in until the 24th. I called the support lines to find out when it was shipping and the guy told me that he really didn't have a clue but that it could be the 24th. July 23rd came along and the order status changed to being packed. July 24th, still being packed. At about 9pm I called to find out if the guitar I had ordered nearly three weeks ago would ship out soon. The lady kindly informed me that it would be another 9 days and did not offer anything for my wait nor did she try and keep me from cancelling my order. Considering that by the time I recieved my guitar it would have been almost exactly a month since I ordered. The only explanation for this, they are moving warehouses. Moving warehouses does not mean that you treat your customers like crap. I'm urging the other people I know with current orders to cancel them and never shop there again. This is one online retailer I will not be using again.

Update:
After sending a letter to their management I was called during the next day (during the hours I said I could be reached) and spoke to a lady on the phone who appologized and agreed that it was just odd that it didn't ship. She offered me some compinsation for the wait period if I wanted to order from them again. I checked their site and the guitar is now $50 cheaper, plus the discount and ending up being about 2/3rd the initial purchase price so I did indeed re-order. She guarenteed me that this was only temporary and that there warehouse move will actually speed up orders when it's finished. We'll see how this last leg of the journey goes.

12 days later, order has not shipped, I have not been contacted. I attempted to contact them via their online form, no response. The billing has gone through on my credit card the day after. I will try the phone number soon.

I was a little unsure in ordering from modchipman.com as I didn't know there were listed on resellerratings.com (sometimes I forget that I can search). I ordered anyways using paypal to be safer, got my order really quickly, it arrived well packed, and was exactly as described. Nearing the end of the install (wish instructions were included but they are easy to find) i noticed I was missing one of the cables in the package. Opened up a support ticket on their website at 9pm. Had a response by 10pm, and have another one on the way the very next day with overnight shipping.

Overall i'm really impressed and if I had more than one x-box or had someone else ask me to mod thiers I would use modchipman again.

Newegg.com is a good example of what every other online retailer should be. The order shipped quick, I always had access to the status of the order, and it arrived without a scratch, in working order, not missing what I ordered. Granted there was only one piece to the order but some other companies still seem to manage to screw orders like this up.

Everything seemed to go as slow as molasses. Holiday season caused it to not get shipped till the 7th ( 10 days since the original order ) which is understandable. Selected the 4-5 day shipping method ( found out later that was a reccomended time not an actual time ) and it's now 9 days ( 7 working days ) later and it's still not here. I hate to say a bad thing about a company that seems to be good but my friend ordered the day before me and his hasn't arrived either.

“Mikecx,

Well I'm sorry to hear that. But it was clearly stated on the front page of the site that we were closed from December 24th to January 3rd and that we would process all orders placed during that time in the order they were placed. That also means that the staff returned to work on January 6th. Your order was shipped the 7th...not bad considering we just reopened the day before.

You also chose the most inexpensive shipping method available that provide no tracking. So basically when the shipment leaves we have no way of tracking it.

We always will honor our commitment to you. If the package happens to be lost then we will ship another to you. We always do that. But at this time, considering that with this shipping option it is an "estimated time of arrival" and that there is no shipping date guaranty, this is a little premature to panic. We can't control every postal services in every country of the world. What we'll do though is send you another package if the package is clearly lost...which is far from being the case right now.

Please contact us if you still haven't received your order in a few days.

I have ordered from case-mod.com before and it went well so I tryed again. This time things did not go as smoothly as they had the last time, but the owner did go as far as he could to make sure that it was corrected. It seems to me like there email server/ service is not working properly as I didn't recieve any emails pertaining to the order but was instead contacted by phone. The fans I order were out of stock, so the order was delayed. I was contacted (by phone) and told this within a day or two (late night order). I agreed to a cheap upgrade to a slightly better fan. This info didn't get passed to the guy who packs the stuff so it didn't ship. I emailed the owner, he responded the next night and told me the order will be next day'd and the two out of stock fans will be taken off the order but still shipped. This order obviously just had a little bad communication, I will still purchase from them if they have the lowest price.

First off. Web-site needs major re-design. Its even slow on a corporate network. Also, the time it takes to get from ordered to shipped needs to be changed. I have used multiple online companies and googlegear.com is one of the slower ones i've used. Almost every other place will have it packed and shipped within a few hours. If something is ordered after hours, it should be shipped by mid-day the next day. Some customers need there parts asap and googlegear did not provide that on this order. It was a cpu (only slighly important to the working status of the computer) and the computer is used as an email server and a vpn server. Both roles have been switched to other machines but extra load is never good. Bottom line---- Prices are great. Descriptions accurate. Slow Website. Slow to get to the customer.
