This was one of my worst experiences on the internet.
I ordered a bedframe and headboard from West Elm in May 2011. A few days after ordering it, I was informed that the headboard was going to be delayed by two months!
Three months later, today, August, I finally gave up on receiving the King Size Moroccan Headboard.
I called the customer service line for West Elm and tried be as nice and polite as I could. I stated that my boyfriend had e-mailed and called them before and we wanted to cancel the headboard. They said they would have to charge us for shipping it and when I asked how can they charge me for an item that I never received, they said it was "standard policy."
Then the customer service representative decided to lecture me on the time frame and how I should have known a hand carved piece would take up to 10 weeks to ship.
Directly from the site it says "General Shipping Information:
Most beds are delivered via our standard carrier to arrive in your home in as little as 5 business days of order receipt. Select beds are delivered via in-home-delivery service. Available in the 48 contiguous states only." (I took a screen shot in case they try to change it later.)
I don't claim to be correct all the time but even if it took 10 weeks to receive, it has been 15 weeks and I still don't have a headboard.
This was the rudest customer service person I ever spoke to and the worst buy I ever made. I am now dealing with returning the bedframe, since I never opened it and have no matching headboard for it. When I asked my final question, the representative hung up on me.
Thanks West Elm, I will never buy any of your products again and will ask friends and family to never buy anything from your site.
