I've been buying from buy.com for 10 years (yeah, an old timer). I will not be buying from them again.
I'd read all the bad reports from people, but never understood them. I had never had any problems with buy.com, so why not just keep buying?
Well, it turns out, if you encounter a problem, you are in TROUBLE. Customer service is non-existent. They really do NOT care about you, the customer, at all.
My last 2 orders were unsatisfactory, and I wasn't able to get any help from CS. No responses to emails, and the phone reps act like their job is simply to get you off the phone as quickly as possible.
My most recent problem was a 2gb USB drive, the price of which was artificially jacked up to cover the large rebate amount (allowing buy.com to advertise the product as "free after rebate"). But the manufacturer did not pay the rebate, and buy.com says "sorry, charlie". If you want more details, just google "connect3d rebate" and you'll find them.
