The order: I placed the order online, for an AU OPTRONICS B156HW01 v.4 MATTE screen to upgrade my wife's ThinkPad T510 (still under warranty). She called them first to make sure the part is the EXACT part, not compatible replacement. The screen was shipped from Canada and arrived in 3 days. It was well packaged: padded envelope inside a box, and the screen was in plastic bag. Its front was protected with a plastic sleeve attached with masking tape. The screen had the correct Lenovo part number as well as B156HW01 v.4 sticker, but nowhere on it was the AU Optronics stamps that some people had mentioned. It also had some finger smudge on the metal frame and slight installation/removal marks on the side/back metal frames. They claimed it was new, but, whatever. The screen is mint, I'd say.
The replacement: I had my 10-year old son removed the old screen after giving him some pointers and going over the illustration on the repair manual. He took it out within 15 minutes. I had to remove the delicate connector myself. I then had my 8-year old son put things back together, and it was done within 15 minutes too. I have a video and might put it up on YouTube if I found the time.
The result: It's a beautiful, bright and sharp 1920x1080 screen, with 95% Adobe gamut coverage.
Final thoughts: I've had various ThinkPad models since 1995 and have always had each with the best display option, so upgrading the T510 for $107 shipped (Lenovo wants $200) is a no-brainer. If they keep the price down like this, it's great.
Unless you use an external monitor, there is no reason not to upgrade the screen of any laptop. A good laptop is worthless with a blurry and low-res screen. If my sons can do it, you can too.
