I was hesitant about placing an order with an online retailer that I was not familiar with. However, I decided to give it a go based on the positive reviews. Subsequently, I placed an order for two of the Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A-XB52 Ultrabooks at the price shown on the Xotic PC website. Unfortunately, I was told by Xotic PC that the price shown was incorrect. With the corrected price being more than I wanted to pay, I was really disappointed. Subsequently, I talked with Jason, their Customer Service Manager, who diligently worked with me to make me a happy customer. He agreed to match a lower price being offered by Amazon, plus expedite shipment to me. He also threw in 2 Microsoft wireless mice and an external DVD player to make me extra happy. I am really impressed with their outstanding customer service and I am now a HAPPY CUSTOMER. Kudos to Jason and the rest of the Xotic PC customer service team for going the extra mile. I went from being skeptical of doing business with Xotic PC to "glad I did business with Xotic PC." They really do care about their customers and want them to be happy. Do yourself a favor and check them out. Look out Amazon, here comes Xotic PC after your business!

I was not aware of their reputation before I ordered a Canon Powershot SD1200 at a bargain price. After I stumbled upon all the complaints, I started to worry, but then thought I'll wait and see what happens. As it turned out, I had exactly the same experience as others in that when they called to confirm my order, the guy tried to sell me accessories such as a battery because he said a battery was not included. Huh? I told them the camera came with a rechargable Canon battery and charger. Then he said "well, the battery that comes with the camera is not exactly rechargable and that it lasts only 20 minutes so you'll need another." Again, huh? When I declined, he tried to sell memory cards but those too I declined. There was no hard sell, but the call did end abruptly when I declined the accessories. The very next day I received an order confirmation email from them, which advised the camera was on backorder and would take 2-3 weeks before it was shipped. At that point I knew I was experiencing the exact same thing others had described. Consequently, I immediately cancelled my order via email AND a phone call (which did require patience due to repeated busy signal and then being on hold for the next available rep). As an extra precaution, I contacted my bank to advise them of the situation and to refuse any charges to my credit card from them...just in case. Maybe Closeout Genius would have shipped by order. I don't know. But it seemed too coincidental that I was experiencing exactly the same scenario that everyone else described so I wasn't willing to waste time waiting to see if I would be the lucky one who would somehow beat the odds with a legitimate deal. Logically, it didn't make sense that would happen. Instead I ordered from Amazon. Cost me $85 more (which was more in line with all other retailers) but at least I know I'm dealing with a reputable source and that I will get my camera in about a week. Bottom line: I've learned that I need to do more research about a company I'm not familiar with before I place an online order.
