Ordered a Pioneer vsx-1019ah receiver from 6th Ave. I previously made a purchase from this merchant and found the process very smooth.
This time around, the receiver arrived within 5 days of placing the order. Communication via email and my online account kept me up-to-date on the status.
I was pleased to see the package was double boxed (as my last order wasn't, maybe due to size). Everything worked great.
I did happen to have one issue that when it came to my attention made my stomach drop and feel sick. 6th Ave was running a special on the receiver I just received. Almost another %10 off what I had just paid. Just to see if they would give me a refund of the difference since it was only a week since I placed the order, I wrote an email to their customer service department. While waiting for a response, I did some searching on 6th Ave's website and found where they will do price matching in some instances (they do have limits). What I read about how to go about requesting a price match told me to call. So to make sure I did have a chance at the price match, I thought I should call.
Much to my surprise, when the friendly customer service rep answered my call, she asked for my order number to see if it was the email request she was already working on. It was. She took all my info, confirmed the price, and issued a refund. Unfortunately, so many other dishonest merchants out on the web have made paranoid about being lied to. It did take a few days for my credit card company to post the credit. But there is was, in all its negative glory.
So to 6th Ave, I commend you on coming through with a fabulous overall experience. I will definitely continue to look at making purchases through there website in the future.
