Ordered a product from sears.com indicated as "in-stock" on February 25. Received email estimating delivery about a week later. After not receiving any indication that my order had shipped, I contacted customer service, who indicated that "it take [sic] 28 days for this order to be delivered," but that I should "please wait for few [sic] days for this item to be delivered."

28 days is not a "few" days, it's unacceptable. I doubt if I'll ever receive my order - I'm actively looking for another store with competitive prices, and will cancel my Sears order once I find somewhere else to buy the item.

Placed an order for two pairs of Bushnell Powerview Series Binoculars on 3/7. Order status page indicated "Item(s) located in stock" for several days. Today I get an email indicating that my order was canceled because both items were unavailable. When I check the website, however, the items are indicated as available and in stock, just at a higher price.

Basically, Sports Authority didn't want to honor the contract they formed by accepting my order, lied about the items being out of stock to excuse their cancellation, and jacked the prices up. All the while, knowing that it's probably not worth my while to sue for specific performance, since it's just two pairs of binoculars.

Avoid this store. The communications are dishonest, and you can't be sure when you order an item whether they are going to jack up the price and cancel your order.

It's worth noting, that on the order status page, they give explanations about the various status indicators affecting your orders as follows:

"New -- Orders with this status are able to be cancelled for a limited amount of time."

...

"Item(s) located in stock -- The items that you selected and submitted with your order during checkout are available and have been located in our warehouse."

My items were located in stock, indicating that they were available. Also, since the order was no longer "new," one presumes that I would not have been permitted to cancel the order anymore. Didn't stop Sports Authority, though.

I placed an order for 55 pounds of peat on 4/28, paying with paypal (the only option). Paypal charged my card immediately. The website indicated that "All orders received by 6:00 PM EST will be processed and shipped the following business day." On 5/11, having received no confirmation (other than my paypal receipt), I emailed the company to ask for a status update. When the emails I sent to help@irishpeat.com bounced, I tried the toll-free number on the website (888-422-PEAT) during the stated hours of operation (9-5 EST). The number dumped right to an answering machine. Concerned, I started investigating the domain registration information for the site. Not satisfied with what I turned up, and finding other reviews online indicating that people were not receiving their orders, I started a paypal dispute the same day (5/11). On 5/13, Paypal forwarded me a tracking number they received from the seller. The tracking number (1Z9630Y20340766449) indicated that a package was shipped 5/12. I received the package on 5/18, and discovered it weighed exactly 37 pounds, box, packing materials and all. I wrote the company at the email address I obtained during from the paypal dispute confirmation email (mike@jacklambert.com), and indicated that I felt I was being ripped off. Surprisingly, the owner immediately responded and said that was the second box I was sent. I have demanded a second tracking number, to substantiate this claim. As of yet, no response from the owner. I've been out $99 for 20 days, and have about 2/3 of what I ordered.

This merchant's credit card verification processes are apparently intended to discourage the use of credit cards (too big a fee for the merchant?). Either you fax or email a scan of BOTH sides of your credit card, provide them with your most recent statement, or break down and pay with PayPal (which has far, far fewer buyer protections than your average credit card).

After repeated phone conversations with my credit card bank and the customer service at YesAsia.com, I finally initiated a 3-way teleconference with all parties, just to try to get my purchase to go forwards. Even this was not enough to satisfy the merchant, who repeatedly insisted I simply use paypal instead.

No thanks.

I cancelled all my orders and went to shop elsewhere. Needless to say, I'm never going back to YesAsia.com again.
