I placed an order for a XPS M1530 laptop on 6/11/08 and was originally given an estimated ship date of 6/24/08. As I had ordered from Dell in the past and had always received the items before the estimated date I didn't worry to much about having a ship date two weeks away. On 6/24/08, I received an email informing me that the ship date had moved to 7/1/08. I called customer service to see if there was any additional information I could get to determine if the new ship date was realistic. Unfortunately, the customer service rep was pretty much useless. The only information he could give me was that the delay was due to "high demand" and he didn't leave me with much confidence that the new ship date would be met.

Online inventory listings do not reflect when items are out of stock. After placing an order online, I waited for a couple of days and hadn't received any confirmation from the store. I later checked the order status and found the order had been canceled (I assume because the item was out of stock). I emailed customer service to verify the order status and never received a response.

Online inventory listings of "in stock" may not be accurate. Customer service was helpful but slightly slow.

This retailer has extremely poor customer service and engages in questionable business practices. A computer power supply that I paid for was replaced by a significantly cheaper product from the same manufacturer. Attempting to get this problem corrected through customer service has been a frustrating experience. They keep asking for additional information that I keep providing with no resolution in sight.

My experience with the store was bad in every step of the process. The item I ordered was listed as 5-7 day shipping, but it took over a month for the item to ship. When it arrived I found they had shipped the wrong product. When calling customer service to correct the problem, I found them to be almost completely useless.
