The merchant, ubid.com, delivered a laptop computer that was not the product that was ordered. After review of this merchant online at this site and through the BBB I have found this to be a very frequent practice by the merchant. The product, a laptop computer, that was delivered was of an inferior quality and worth only half of the value of the product that was ordered. The company has a history of not refunding the customer after there has been a dispute. Though they advertise a A+ rating with the BBB, The BBB site lists the company as unrated. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB. This product was shipped from their warehouse, and the product was clearly marked as being a product other that the product that was ordered. I can only conclude after reading other reviews of this company that this was a deliberate act of fraud by the company ubid.com.
“uBid is not fraudulent in our practices! We have millions of members and we process thousands of orders a day, and admittedly there are times when orders are mishipped or when a customer receives something that isn't up to their expectations and we do apologize for those types of situations and always try to make them right. In this customer's case, we were in contact with them, issued an RMA on 1/20, and have received no response from them, nor has there been any tracking activity relative to the return. We await a response from the customer.”
