1/5

posted May-17-2010
This is a follow-up review to my original review on 4/29/2010, since this is the first time since then that I have ordered from them. I ordered an ITX Case with a power supply from over the phone on 5/3/2013 and the phone rep said everything was good to go although it would be shipped from a third party. I should've taken that as a warning.
On the following Tuesday I received a package even though the item was still shown as not shipped on their website. It was not my case, but instead a TFX power supply. I immediately called and they had no idea what was going on, but opened an "inquiry" with their drop shipper and said to call back on Friday (a week after placing the order). They said they would under no circumstances reach out to me - that I had to call in.
On Thursday (May 9th) evening, being fed up with this situation I tried calling in two separate times, but hung up after being on hold for over 10 minutes each time. I instead wrote an e-mail asking for information.
I received a canned response on Friday restating that they had opened up an inquiry with the drop shipper. I called in right after and after explaining the situation to yet another customer service representative, they opened up an RMA request. I explained to them that I would be opening a dispute with AMEX if they didn't get this resolved soon.
On Thursday, May 16th, nearly two weeks after ordering, I opened a dispute with AMEX since I still had not heard any information back from Tiger Direct regarding the order.
That friday, I received an e-mail from Tiger Direct stating that they have received the RMA from the drop shipper and they would send a label within 24 hours.
Saturday, I receive an e-mail from the drop shipper stating they would give me a refund for the power supply once they receive it. I still had not received the label and the e-mail revealed that Tiger Direct had clearly sent them an order for the power supply since they had exact details on what I had received.
As of this review on 5/20 I still do not have the label, what I ordered or a refund. I would avoid Tiger Direct at all costs. I have spent more time on this one return than I have from my collective time spent returning items to Amazon and Newegg (who have yet to make a mistake and always make it right immediately). I honestly see no reason to shop here when there are so many better retailers on the net in both order accuracy and customer service. It was only the credit they gave me from screwing up my prior order in 2010 that attracted me back again and they still managed to make it a bad deal.

Original review from my order on 4/29/2010:
I made two orders right after one another that went two totally different ways.
The first I ordered RAM that was on sale and was a great deal. They called my cell phone at 8am on a saturday to confirm the order. They also insisted on calling my grandmother's home phone number as well to confirm. I have NO idea how they got her number, it confuses me to this day. Despite my request to NOT call her, they did anyways. Then, the order sat in their system for 7 days before I finally called to see what was happening. They said it was stuck in their system and would ship out that day...didn't happen. Instead it was marked as back ordered and didn't ship for another week.
I had made another order a day or so after the RAM , which came in very fast...no problems at all.
*edit* Tigerdirect contacted me about the first review and explained how they managed to get my grandmother's number and also gave a credit to say they were sorry. Very pleased with their follow up!
