I placed an order online on 1/30/2011... their website says that delivery will take 2-4 weeks, which is ok, but after 5 weeks and not hearing anything (or getting anything) I called to inquire. I left a message and got a call back saying it would ship out that week. I waited a couple more weeks and called again to inquire. I waited 2 days and didn't get a call back, so I called again (3/31/11) saying I wanted an email or text message with a tracking number the next day (Friday) showing that the package had shipped, or I wanted a full refund. I got a reply saying it would go out on Saturday. On Sunday I inquired about the tracking number and got a message that "the post office closed too early" and that he'd send the package on Monday. Monday (4/4) I did indeed get a USPS tracking number showing the package shipped that day and was delivered on 4/6... 8.5 weeks after ordering.
So the process of receiving the cloak totally sucked, but the actual cloak itself is really quite nice. I got a kids sized plush cloak which is very nicely stitched and lined. My niece adores it (it was a very late birthday present). Definitely high quality, and certainly worth the price paid.
The moral? Call before you order and find out what the real shipping time will be.. and keep following up to make sure it goes out when expected. I order online in part because I hate talking on the phone... but that won't work with velvetcloaks.com.
