3/5

I ordered two Toto toilets from NBS on June 28. I knew one was in stock and the other was on back order. I received an email the next day indicating the one item was on back order and given a time frame of 3-10 business days for an expected delivery date. I received no further communication from NBS at all. I called NBS on July 14 to inquire about the back ordered item and I was told that the item was available and the entire order would be shipped by Monday, July 18. I was also told I would receive a communication (email) from the shipper for tracking purposes. On Monday, July 18, I received a phone call from the shipper, a commercial carrier, to set up delivery. Deliver was scheduled for Tuesday, July 19 between 10 am and 1 pm. I specifically told the shipper (R&L Carriers) that an 18 wheel semi truck was far too large for my delivery address and they said they would send a smaller truck. The items showed up on an 18 wheeler, which then had to be offloaded into my car and driven up to the house. The driver knew nothing about my request for the items to be delivered from a smaller truck. The items arrived in perfect condition, no damage at all. One box was slightly crushed, but no damage at all to the product inside.
Overall, my experience with NBS was satisfactory, but communication was very poor. My CC was charged the same day I placed the order. It would have been very helpful to know that the shipment was being delivered by common carrier and not a typical package delivery service like FedEx. I could have made better arrangements to receive the goods. I may order from NBS again, but I would have to get much better pricing than other competitors. This order was better priced than their competitors, but only by about 5%.
