“Ebay never really cared about our best interest as buyers or sellers but they have really just gone off the rails. The recent change to charge a 9% valuation fee on shipping is just the final nail in the coffin. I sold a $90 item, which I had weighed and measured before the auction, that would cost $45 to ship to most of the country. Instead of gouging the buyer I just charge what it cost me and I provide the packing material.
Now ebay takes 9% from the final value (which I am okay with) and then they take $4 off the top of the shipping charges. When I called to inquire the 'Peggy' told me it was 'no different than before except for the extra 9% charge'.....and she repeated this over and over like I would suddenly believe her...it didn't happen. And then she switches to telling me that it is to combat high shipping costs and when I told her that it actually means I should have RAISED my shipping cost to $49 just to cover the fees she just could not follow me. WOW!”

“Right before leaving for Disney I had to send my main lens in to Nikon for repairs so I needed a replacement fast. Ilene took care of us once again.
I like getting to "play" with lenses that I may not have the opportunity to purchase and CLR has helped me out with that a couple of times. Highly recommended!”

“I ordered two end tables which were on clearance only to find that one had a couple of scratches on them. I called them up (N. American CS) and was surprised to find that they were willing to offer a pen to cover the marks or replace the scratched table outright. I went for the replacement and they just said to put the old one in the new box and give them a call so they could send UPS to pick it up. Fantastic.”

“Amazon is one of those companies that is great IF you do not have any problems. If problems arise, prepare yourself for long strings of canned email responses from overseas CSRs, who apparently have no comprehension of the subtle nuances of the English language.
I pre-ordered a cd that was due to release on 10/23 in early Septemver. Previously Amazon had a policy that stated you would get the cd the day it was release, they have retracted this policy. In my case I did not get it on the 23rd but late on the 24th I did get a letter saying it was delayed so my shipping date was pushed back. Now I will get the cd but not until five days after it is in stores. There deal specifically states that they will ship with whatever method necessary to meet the projecte delivery date of the 26th. This wouldhave meant that they would have to next day it, vice 2nd day, to make sure it made it. They did not do this and keep responding with things like 'Good news! I tracked it and it is on the way!" Give me a break.
Next time I will just buy it from the store and forget about amazon and their outsourced 'customer service'.”

“Obviously the customer service dept has no idea about what goes on in the internet dept. I found an affiliate offer that gave $20 off of orders over $75 and even when I told the customer service assoc. the exact address she still claimed that it was not their site. Condescending without the intelligence to back it up.

Even when canceling the order out of principle they did not seem to care. They have that 'sucker born everyday' syndrome. ”

“I have placed about 20 orders with these guys and I am just about done with them. I cancel order and hour after placing and the next day they just ship it anyway even after I called New Delhi to confirm the cancellation. When i called back after they charged my card the fella on the phone didn't even understand english enough to know I was mad. I wasn't worked up enough to yell or anything but it was like he was answering questions someone else was asking him. On top of the at I was told a supervisor is only available 'between the 9 and the 5 of the PST'. WOW! I'm over them.”

“The horror stories seem to be true. I did not read up on them before I started and it was really awesome for a month or two, I was getting 8-9 movies a week with 1 day turnarounds. We had just had a baby so we just laid back and watched movies until the honeymoon came to a screeching halt. Around Xmas the turnaround time went way downhill, I mean like 3-4 movies a week...maybe.
I called them and was told that blockbuster offered a similar product and that I was free to leave when I returned the movies I had.
The practice that I am experiencing is called 'throttling' and it is because in the world of 'unlimited' movies it is seen that someone getting as many movies as I do is not profitable. They should just come out and say that or give up.
No customer support responses and long wait times for new releases to the tune of 3 weeks+.”

“Prices are generally better than anywhere and the shipping is probably faster than any other store that sells anything. I ordered on Monday at 6pm and got confirmation on Tuesday that it had shipped and it is out for delivery on Wednesday.
I use them to buy diapers and save a couple of bucks on each order and when UPS lost an case they gave no grief at all and sent another case out immediately. Highly recommended.”
