5/5

posted Dec-02-2008
I bought a video card based on an assumption that the $40 rebate would be honored since the rebate was hosted on Newegg's website. The rebate says "Purchase a qualified product listed on this form between the purchase dates of November 01, 2008 and November 30, 2008". Again, this was hosted by Newegg, so I believe it was good. When I went to the complete the rebate process at worldwiderebates.com, it only listed the dates 11/1 to 11/4. I also ran across a product review where someone had the same problem and that Newegg credited them the $20. It took them 5 minutes. I called Newegg and explained what happened and the rep never got back with me. Today I opened up a chat instead and repeated the process and again they asked to get back with me. Today I wasted a literal 1 hour chatting with a rep. I don’t see how it is even up for discussion. In fact, they found 2 more rebate docs to rebates with the same dates, 11/1 to 11/30. I am told I should hear back in a day or two. I’ve been a big Newegg fan for many years and have been loyal and I have to admit this is very disappointing. If you want to see the rebate, here is the link. I’m tempted to contact consumer affairs.

Newegg finally made good on the rebate, so I am revising my rating.
