Newegg.com (USA
Rating 10/10 5/5
modified review posted Jul-01-2012

Newegg.com is my default place to buy computer components and accessories, I have been buying from them for years. Their power search tools are second to none and they allow me to find and compare exactly the items I want. Often, other sites make you scroll through pages of irrelevant items because the search functions and categories aren't specific enough. Power search lets me check the precise requirements I have and only see those items.

Newegg's prices are competitive as well.

Have RMA'd items without issue; be sure to take note of the time frames and restrictions on particular items though.

Xotic PC
Rating 10/10 5/5
modified review posted Jul-01-2012

I was looking for a fast but light weight laptop. Pre-ordered a custom Asus through Xotic PC, upgraded the CPU and memory and got what I was looking for. The item matched exactly what was advertised and what I had read in user reviews about it. The laptop was shipped in the expected time frame. Didn't deal with customer service because everything worked right out of the box!

Custom laptops cost extra but they're definitely the way to go if you want to more power than the base models without sacrificing size and weight.
